I watched as the man carried the sword looking for her. He walked around the castle room sword in hand with a gold shield for protection. "Medusa, Medusa" he shouted. Medusa dropped down off the ceiling. I heard his agonizing screams. They echoed through the castle. As Medusa slashed him to bits i turned and ran. I ran down the dimly lit hall. My shoes clanking the stone floor. I heard her voice shrieking behind me. "She's onto me! Run Corky run!" I told myself. My long curly red hair bouncing on my back as i ran. I tripped and flew forward onto my stomach. I shot up and brushed my white gown off. I turned down another hall and bolted into a room. The room was dark. It was quiet. I waited and waited. I fell asleep. The next morning i awoke feeling cold. "Burr I'm freezing" i said walking down the halls back to my room. I have to end this! I told myself. I need to find Medusas room. Nobody knows who Madusa is. She walks as a human during the daytime and appears as Medusa at night. She is a real hidden beast! People have tried to find out who she is but have failed. By failed i mean died! She tears people apart in this castle. She only comes out at night. Seeking her victims. I have a plan though. It says in the book of myths and legends that hemlock is a poisonous plant. Hemlock is all around us. I'm going to set a trap for her late tonight. I picked some hemlock from the forest that surrounded us on all sides. I took it to my room. I crushed some into a tiny brown bag. It's ready i told myself standing in front of my mirror. I brushed some tangles out of my long red hair. I slipped my night shoes on. I heard harrowing screams down the hall. "Another victim for Medusa" i whispered. "This needs to end!" I muttered. She was now out of her room this is my chance. I snuck quietly down the hall. I passed a mans body being chewed to bits and pieces by Medusa. The snakes on her head digging into the human feast. They were attacking the dead body like vultures in the wild. I crept behind the small walls that held up a giant water fountain. "Her room is a few steps away" i mumbled to myself. The snakes on her head noticed me! Medusa hissed and shot up growling. Spotting me a helpless little girl sneaking around. I bolted into her room. I slammed the huge wooden door shut. I need to hurry i scolded myself. BANG! BANG! She blasted her fists on the door trying to get in. I spotted her tea cup. A black mug with a golden snake handle. I hurried over to it. I took out the brown bag with the hemlock. I shattered peices of hemlock into the tea! The door smacked open. Making a loud bang. "What do we have here!" Medusa said smirking. "Please do not harm me" i cried. "What an easy feast for my darling babies" she replied referring to the snakes bobbing on her head. The snakes hissed and chattered there teeth. There fangs dripping blood. Medusa walked towards me. I was shivering from fear. I backed into a dresser. I was done for. Medusa stopped short of me. She picked up the tea mug. "Before i go any further i need to quench my thirst. My throat is a bit dry from feeding. Some tea will do just fine" she announced tipping the mug to her mouth. She drank up the tea with hemlock. "I guess that makes you my last meal of the night before i rest dear" Medusa threatened approaching me. "The poison didn't work!" I told myself shaking. Medusa grabbed me by the throat. "I'm dead." I thought. The snakes hissed in my ears if as teasing me and scaring me. I couldn't breathe as she squeezed my throat. "Time to die little girl" she blurted. Suddenly she released me. I dropped to the floor trying to catch my breath. I looked up at Medusa. She was staggering around holding her throat. The snakes were dancing in agony! Medusa let out a beastly groan! "ROARRR!" The roar of a monster dying echoed through the castle. Medusa dropped down to her knees. Weezing in pain. Grabbing her stomach and throat. She plopped to the floor on her back. The snakes now lifeless green rubber tubes. "I did it! I've killed the monster Lacey!" I shouted dancing around the living room. That video game wasn't that scary Lacey! I said setting down the controller. "Brenda you're to good at video games!" Lacey replied shaking her head. "I have an even scarier game than The Dark Castle Brenda!" Lacey said handing me a disk that read "ATTACK OF THE GOBLINS. "Cool lets play!" I said picking the controller up.
