This chapter took me so long to write. I really am so sorry about this! I just can't seem to know how to end this chapter. Anyway, one of the very reason I haven't updated last Thursday because my *sister* needed my laptop. Shoutout to Jayshin_Lee hahahahahah love you always. Alsoooo, my work is taking so much of my time. I have been transcribing which is really not part of my job but since that is the only job available, I'll take it because I need work hahahah so my fingers are giving out by the time I would write.
So here you go. Without further ado, I give you chapter xvii.
Enjoy!!!

"Light these candles using your mind."
I closed my eyes and thought about the fire on the candles. When I opened my eyes again, only a few of them were lit.
"Your mind is elsewhere, dear," my grandmother chided lightly. "You have manipulated the sea last weekend, yet you could not light a few small candles?"
I sighed. I guess there is no escaping the reason for my lack of focus.
"Ella was released from the hospital," I started and watched as my grandmother turned her attention to me. "She's back in school and she told me that the doctors could not find any reason why she was in and out of consciousness for weeks. Grandma, she was in a similar predicament as I was following the events in the woods. Does that mean she's a witch too?"
My grandmother had a small smile before she took the seat next to me.
"It is not my place nor is the time to tell you of her lineage or kind. But know that she is something very important in both the past and the future."
"What does that mean?" I asked.
"It means that you both will play an important role of what will happen to the world. But she is someone who holds the fate of all the supernatural beings," she said as if that sums up everything.
"So, does that mean she's a supernatural too?" I asked again.
She sighed and give me a look that said you are seriously not dropping the topic, are you? "Yes, but as to the specifics of what her kind is, is a knowledge too early for you to know," she finally said.
She must have sensed the slight frustration I felt at not knowing the full truth.
"All in good time, darling," she said as she snapped her fingers. The lights from the few candles were instantly gone. "Let's get back, shall we?"
It took my grandmother an hour as well as a back and forth between using my words and my mind to light the candles spread out in the room to realize that nothing can bring my whole focus on the task at hand
She must have felt the exhaustion from me because she finally gave me a break.
My grandmother told me that she has special abilities as well, aside, of course, the spells she was teaching me. One of those abilities is feeling the other person's emotions. She explained that people have different glow around them that reflects what they feel. It is like there is a signal that indicates a person's inner turmoil or happiness, which made me so thankful because I was able to dash out of the room altogether.
I turned on my phone (because my grandmother made me turn it off since she does not want me to have any kind of distraction) and saw that I have five unread messages.
