Chapter twenty seven

Luke’s P.O.V

“Hey son, before you hang up I would like to talk to you. But in person please. I promise, it’s nothing bad.” My dad said through the phone. I took a deep breath and glanced at Marie. She looked at me curiously. I took another deep breath and said “what is it dad?” I glanced over at Marie again and her eyes were wide and her mouth was hanging open. I shrugged at her as my dad said “I need to talk to you about something major and I promise I will be on my best behavior.” I listened closely to his words and they seemed truthful.

I sighed and replied “fine, but I’m bringing my girlfriend. When do you wanna meet up and where?” there was a long pause, almost like he was too shocked to speak  “Umm… twelve o’clock tomorrow afternoon at Spago in Beverly Hills? Do you remember where it is?” he asked through the phone. I nodded my head quickly remembering that he can’t actually see me right now. So I said “yeah, where we had mom’s birthday dinner a few years ago.” I laughed lightly and said “yep, that’s the one. See you there. Oh and Luke… thanks.” He sounded hopeful and relieved. I let out a shaky laugh and replied “yeah, uh no problem. See you then.” And then I hung up the phone. I sat there and stared at it in disbelief. I wonder what he has up his sleeve now.

I looked over at Marie and she had finally recovered. She hopped out of bed and went into her closet. “So umm… what do I wear to dinner with my boyfriend’s parents?” she asked nervously. I got out of bed and put on my boxers that were beside the bed. After they were fully on I walked into her closet where she was hurriedly looking for something with panic clear across her face. I took her hand and put it on my face. I smiled at her and she looked at my face calming down slowly. “I hope its okay that I invited you. I just can’t face him alone.” She looked deep in my eyes and sighed. “It’s fine. I just don’t know what to wear.” She said with a warming smile on her face. I chuckled and grabbed a black and cream lace dress with one shoulder and a black bow thing at the top of the shoulder and the lace was two different styles. I don’t know, I just know it looked good and it would be perfect for such a high end restaurant.(Okay I’m horrible at explaining fashion lol so I found a picture of it and it’s off to the side.)

She looked at it and said “won’t that be too fancy for lunch?” I laughed and replied “not for the place we will be going tomorrow.” She looked at me and then back at the dress while biting her lip. I grabbed her chin and kissed her passionately. She through the dress in the chair and grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the bed, time for round two.

Marie’s P.O.V

I woke up to the sun shining brightly in my eyes. I groaned and turned over to see Luke sleeping peacefully beside me. He had his arm lazily thrown over my back. I smiled to myself last night’s events swarming into my head. I sighed happily and then kissed him on the nose and tried to carefully move his arm so I could go to the bathroom. But damn if this boy wasn’t the lightest sleeper ever. He woke up and grabbed me back down by the waist playfully and whispered in my ear “where do you think you’re going?” with a smile in his voice. I laughed lightly and said “well we have been asleep for over eight hours and I haven’t gone to the bathroom in over ten…” I replied kissing his nose again.

He chuckled and said “well there’s a toll that you have to pay in order to go…” he smiled wide and looked down at his arm that was still around my waist tightly. I matched his smile and started stroking his arm lightly. He let out a hungry growl and closed his eyes. I took this opportunity in his weakened state to slip quickly out of his arms and to do a victory dance by the bed far enough to where he couldn’t reach me. The look on his face made me laugh even harder “hey! You cheated!” he set up and crossed his arms over his chest like a small child and stuck his bottom lip out. I stuck my tongue at him and walked into the bathroom to do what oh so badly needed to be done. After I finished and washed my hands I walked back into the bedroom and I couldn’t see Luke anymore.

Oh great, he’s going to try and scare me. I went over to the closet door and waited for him to pop out. I counted in my head to three and right when I got to three he jumped out and screamed “Danger!” I laughed at his attempt and when he realized that it didn’t startle me he ran at me with a mischievous look on his face. I screamed and ran to the bed and jumping under the covers to play along. He started trying to tickle me like I was ticklish or something. After a little bit he laughed and said “oh, yeah. I forgot.” I smirked at him and then started tickling him. He picked me up like I weighed nothing and I straddled him we were both laughing really hard at each other’s stupidity but then things started feeling tingly down there and we ended up having sex for the third time in twenty four hours.

At ten thirty Luke and I took a shower together and I got ready “up or down?” I asked Luke as I was standing in front of my bathroom mirror playing with my hair. “Down, I love your hair down. And do those loose curls too. That’s my favorite on you.” He said as he was putting on his clothes from last night. “So are you going to go home and change?” I asked him looking him up and down. He was wearing his tux from the wedding but now it was very wrinkly from being in the floor all night. I blushed at the image and looked away turning on my iron. “Yeah, I was going to do that while you do your hair and make-up. I’ll only be twenty minutes.” He told me while looking at his watch. I smiled and nodded at him “okay.” He leaned in a kissed me good-bye and said “I love you.” While looking into my eyes.  “I love you too Luke.” He kissed me lightly on the lips again and then he was gone.

I picked up my iPod and put it in the iPod dock on my bathroom counter. I put on Taking Back Sunday and listened to them while I did my hair. After I was finished Luke appeared in the bathroom doorway with a big smile on his face. “I missed you so much that I brought you these.” He said to me as he handed me a huge bouquet of pink and white star gazer lilies, which happened to be my favorite. “Awh! How did you know these were my favorite?” I asked taking them from him so I could smell them.

 He shrugged and smirked at me in response. “You called Sarah on the first day of her honeymoon to ask her didn’t you?” I asked putting one hand on my hip, looking at him curiously. “Well technically no…” I raised my eye brows and he finished “I actually called Ryan and had him ask her.” He said with a big grin on his face. I laughed at his response and said “well thank you. I love them.” I gave him a big long kiss to prove how thankful I was “Can you put these in a vase and fill it half way with water? The vases are under the sink in the kitchen.” He nodded and gave me one more kiss before leaving.

I finished my make-up and then went into my closet to find my black stilettos. Once I found them and put them on I went to find Luke so we could leave. It was already eleven twenty. He was in the kitchen looking for something to eat and I looked at what he was wearing for the first time. He was wearing a black dress shirt unbuttoned at the top with a cream tie around his neck with some really expensive looking khaki pants with black dress shoes. Wow I guess this really is a fancy place we are going to. He looked up at me with a mouth full of pizza and smiles. I laugh loudly and walk over to him to wipe his mouth off. “You look amazing!” he exclaimed as he put his arms around me to put me in a tight hug. I chuckled and replied “you clean up good too!” he pulled away and smiled and then kissed me lightly making sure not to mess up my red lip stick. “Come on let’s go. I don’t want to be late and make this afternoon any worse.” Luke said. I nodded in agreement and left hand in hand with the love of my life.
