Vanessa POV

As the girl pulled the trigger Gabriella let go of me, I tried to stop her but I was unable to. I saw Gabriella hug Grayson protecting him from the bullet.

The bullet hit Gabriellas back making her loosen up the grip she had on Grayson. Grayson held her in his arms as he cried .

Tears rolled down my eyes as I ran towards them. My heart completely broke when I saw her eyes loose life slowly  . I hugged her and kissed her head, my tears fell on her face . Grayson had her in his arms, she smiled and said "I love you dad" before she closed her eyes. Grayson started crying uncontrollably as he held her close to him

"Whoops, it was supposed to be you and not her but things happen " Kylie shrugged

My body filled with anger as she said those words. I turned around but Zac pointed the gun straight at my face.

"Nope, don't even think about it . Don't even think about it or Graysons head blows off "  he warned me with his crazy icy blue eyes

I turned around unable to look at Zac, he disgusted me . Grayson held Gabriella closed to him as he spoke to her softly

I felt completely lost, my daughter was laying there almost lifeless and I couldn't do anything to protect her .

I sat next to Grayson, i put my head on his shoulder and cried with him.

"Stop with the bullshit , we got what we wanted now let's go before I kill someone else. This sad scene is making me want to throw up" The girl with the creepy smile said .

Zac, Kylie and the rest grabbed their stuff and left the house like nothing had happened.

"They're gone" Ethan slowly got up" the ambulance will be here in 10 minutes " Ethan said as he limped towards us "she'll be fine, she's a strong girl" he put his hand on my shoulder and gave me a soft smile

"I don't know what I'll do if I loose her" I said through tears

"This is all my fault " Grayson cried

"No, no, no, this is not your fault at all!" I said as I placed a kiss on his lips " You did everything to try to protect her, Ethans right our baby Gabby is strong, she can't leave us, god can't take her from us " I said through tears

My heart filled with hope as I heard the ambulance sirens.

The ambulance man quickly came to the house and took Gabriella .

I went in the ambulance with Gabriella while Grayson and Ethan went in Ethans car . They were right behind us.

Graysons POV

"I won't be able to resist this Ethan" I said as I broke down in tears "my daughter- my daughter can't die ."

"Don't say that Gray, she won't die I promise you . She's a strong girl " Ethan replied trying to comfort me

"Who the fuck was I with all this time ? Who the fuck was Kylie . I was about to get my family, the family I always dreamed of having with Vanessa and Kylie just took that away from me " I cried "I was just a part of her plan, when she got what she wanted she tried to kill me, but instead that bullet that was supposed to be for me hit my daughter . My daughter saved my life"

"Gabriella did that because she loves you, with just a few months of meeting you she fell in love with the person you are. Grayson without her even knowing the truth ,  she told you that if she could choose who her dad was it would be you"

"I wish it was me who was in that hospital bed, not her . She's so young she doesn't deserve any of this, this whole thing was never supposed to involve her. Ethan my daughter can't die ! We still have a lot of stuff to do together, she still has a long way to go, she has so much to offer this world . She can't just leave this world , not yet it's to soon for my daughter to leave"

"She won't, Grayson you have to have faith in her . Trust me that little girl is a fighter she won't let this be her last breath on earth "

We got to the hospital ,they quickly took her to surgery .

As soon as Vanessa saw me she ran into my arms, I hugged her tight as I shared her pain. We both cried softly as we hugged each other.

"I'm so sorry Gray" she said through tears "I'm a complete asshole for deciding for you, if I only had told you the truth 14 years ago none of this would've of happened "

I shook my head, i moved a piece of hair away from her face. I looked at her beautiful eyes and kissed her. The kiss was salty thanks to our tears but it still felt good, it felt right . My heart felt healed, I've been wanting to kiss her for so long. Now all we need is Gabby to be with us and everything will be like we planned back in high school .

"Let's forget about all that, I forgive you. It saddens me I wasn't able to be with you through the pregnancy , I wasn't able to be with Gabriella and see her crawl, walk ,say her first words or her first day at school but I am with her now and that's all that matters to me. She's going to be okay, we're going to be that family we dreamed of back in high school " she gave me a soft smile and kissed me .

"I love you "

"I love you more " I said looking at her beautiful face.

"Parents of Gabriella Lambert " the doctor said and we quickly ran towards him

"How's our daughter " we both said at the same time

"The surgery went well, she's a very strong girl. She lost a lot of blood but she's going to be fine, it might take her a while to walk the first few weeks but with therapy she'll be back to normal " he said smiled

Vanessa,Ethan and I hugged each other in excitement and relief, we thank the doctor and  he told us we could go and see her, she'll just be asleep .

The tree of us entered the room, she was laying there peacefully sleeping. I smiled immediately as I got close to her.

"I love you Gaby" I whispered to her and place a kiss on her forehead.

She opened her eyes slowly, she looked confused at first but when her hazel eyes met mine she smiled .

"Where am I?" She asked with a raspy voice

"Hospital" Vanessa replied kissing her hand "how do you feel baby?"

"Good, my back is in so much pain though " she said scrunching her nose "but it was worth it, dad is safe " she looked at me and smiled

My heart immediately melted as those words left her mouth .

"I love you so much baby!" I smiled as I kissed her checks multiple times making her chuckle "as soon as you get out of here we're going to do so much stuff together "

She smiled and looked at Vanessa and then at me

"Promise me you guys will never be away from each other ever again, and no more secrets " she said grabbing Vanessas hand and mine and putting them together

"We promise " we said smiling

"What about uncle E? Can he form part of those amazing fun plans and that beautiful family ?" Ethan said smiling and opened his arms for Gabriella to "air" hug him

"Of course you can uncle E !" Gabriella said smiling "you're my favorite uncle I want you there for sure  "

"We're finally a family " Vanessa said smiling

"It's time to live the life we always dreamed of" I replied

"And is time for me to have the sister and brother I've always wanted to !" Gabriella said with excitement making us all laugh .
