Saturday morning in the Park household meant French toast, coffee and syrup and other good stuff.  Jimin's nose picked up the mixed scent of his mothers delicious cooking and his stomach did an appreciative rumble in anticipation of his breakfast.  He opened his eyes yawning softly, reaching out to wake his best friend, then realising he was alone.  Jimin sat up, momentarily confused, "Yoongi?" he called out, but the boy's clothes had gone, and Jimin's sweat pants Yoongi had been wearing were neatly folded on the edge of his bed.

It had been awkward between the two friends as they'd settled into bed the night before.  After Jimin had sat so closely to Yoongi, they had both become flustered and an uncomfortable air had settled in the room.  Yoongi had said he was tired and had faced the wall unmoving, but Jimin had heard the soft sobs coming from his friend, and it had broken his heart.  Yoongi was so strong, he always emitted an aura of 'no fucks given', and Jimin was the only person Yoongi would ever let that wall down in front of.

He'd held Yoongi as he cried, and usually he would lean back into his embrace, accepting the warmth of Jimin's comforting arms.  But last night had been different, Yoongi hadn't moved, he was like ice as if he was broken Jimin thought.  They usually talked through whatever was bothering the other, but last night had just been uncomfortable silence, and now he was gone leaving Jimin unable to shake off the feeling of disappointment and loneliness that swam about inside of him.

Turning on his side with a deep sigh he noticed a small scribbled note, Yoongi's scruffy handwriting.  He sat up quickly and grabbed it as if it was the most important thing in the world at that moment.  It was short and to the point, Yoongi had left early to find Namjoon to sort out their differences and would call him later to hang out.  Jimin laid back sighing in relief, whatever Yoongi was going through, he never forgot to make sure that Jimin was ok and leaving the note was his way of telling his friend not to worry about him.  He hadn't left because of the awkward atmosphere, or Jimin's clinginess towards him, and it made him feel more relaxed to know that he hadn't fucked up, or Yoongi hadn't seen the way he'd stared at his naked chest so wantonly.

His thoughts shifted to Jungkook, it had been the first time he'd gone over the events of yesterday in his mind, and he smiled as he played over their conversation in his head.  He was quickly shaken from his daydream as he heard his mother shout the family to breakfast.  He didn't need to be at the garage until 11am, so with visions of his crush, he dreamily made his way downstairs kissing his mom on the cheek and brightly smiling at his father and sisters as he sat down to eat.

Jimin hadn't noticed the stares he was getting from his family, the usually sullen boy who went out of his way to avoid interaction with any of them was sat there........smiling.  There was an aura of joy around him that brightened his eyes and made him appear so different "what's the matter?" asked Jimin looking up at the puzzled faces.  His father shook his head in disbelief  "why are you smiling?", Jimin's mother seemed to warm up to the new facial expression immediately "what difference does it make?" she exclaimed, "I like it" she said as she ruffled Jimin's hair, kissing him on the top of his head.

Things hadn't felt like this for a long time in the Park household, and Mrs Park knew how hard things were at school for Jimin.  He'd always been such a happy boy growing up, but the light had dimmed over the years.  The older he'd gotten, the more cynical his outlook on life had become and he'd shut them out a long time ago, so just for a moment, it was nice to have her baby boy back.  Jimin's father wasn't convinced and squinted suspiciously "have you crashed our car?" he asked.  Jimin scoffed, with half a mouthful of French toast "I wasn't aware I was smiling, If it bothers you, I won't do it".

Jimin's father pursed his lips "You haven't smiled in a while, I was just curious about the change" he gruffed.  "Well, I haven't had much to smile about appa" he said as he was interrupted by an "Oh my actual God" exclamation from Jaewon who was reading a text from one of her cronies.  Darting her eyes up to Jimin and staring at him as though he had grown another head.  "This isn't true, It cant be.  It has to be the most hilarious rumour ever floated, right?" she said looking at Jimin head on.  Jimin had an idea what the rumour might be about and he continued to smile and eat his breakfast as if he had no cares in the world, much to his sisters growing dismay.
