Jimin hated Mondays, the blurring of his alarm clock tormented him, laughing at him for having to get up and face another gruelling day of hard slog at Bussan High.  Monday meant his shift at the garage after school and having to forego his lunch break in order to get his homework done at a reasonable hour.  He finished his shift at 7pm unless they were quiet, the walk home generally took him 30 minutes, and by the time he'd been interrogated, ate dinner and finally escaped to the sanctuary of his tiny space, he was too tired to even think straight.  Today was no exception, his dad was on late shifts this week, which meant that his usual tirade of disappointment would begin early.

He dressed quickly, not even thinking about his ensemble, it wasn't important anyway.  Most of his clothes were thrift or discount store bought, and he paid no real mind to his appearance anyway.  Todays outfit consisted of black skinny jeans with big rips in one knee and upper thigh, they were tight around his butt, but felt quite comfortable as they moved with his petite frame.  His mother had thrown a bag of clothes at him last week saying they were hand me down's from a colleagues son, pride wasn't an option in the Park household.  Jimin actually quite liked how the jeans made him feel, he hadn't bothered to see what they looked like, and he threw an oversized baby blue thin sweatshirt over the top.  This was new to him too, and the soft fabric felt comforting, even though it was a few sizes too big and hung off his shoulder a little exposing a collar bone.

He rushed down the stairs, running through the kitchen grabbing an apple on his way.  "Hey, slow down" his father shouted from the kitchen table "we still need to talk about..." Jimin didn't let his dad finish "sorry appa, running late, talk later yeah?" he offered running out onto the back lawn, pleased that he'd managed to avoid confrontation.  Yoongi was stood at the end of the road waiting, taking a few last drags on his morning cigarette 'breakfast' he'd call it.  He saw Jimin ambling towards him, and what the fuck was he wearing? Yoongi felt his jaw drop a little and his mouth go dry.  He looked good, fuck, he looked hot, those tight jeans flashing bits of skin that he so desperately wanted to touch.  The colour of the jumper made his tan skin deepen, and his collar bone was taunting Yoongi in the most bitter sweet way.  He cleared his throat and mentally scolded himself, collecting his nerves together before Jimin reached him smiling brightly.

The two best friends soon began a comfortably silent trek to school with Yoongi making sure to keep his eyes front and his heart well and truly in it's locked box.  Stealing a bite of Jimin's apple he started up conversation, "you must be getting grief from your old man about college again?" he questioned.  He saw Jimin's shoulders visibly sag from the corner of his eye, " He won't let up about it, it's all he thinks about, that and how I'm such a fucking disappointment" he scoffed.  "In comparative terms" began Yoongi "it's probably better to have an old man nagging you about the future, than to have no old man not nagging you about anything".  Jimin felt shit at that moment,  "sorry Yoongs, insensitivity award goes to me once again" he nudged his friend playfully, then placed a soothing hand on his shoulder, "things not good at home?" he asked.  "Same as usual" he shrugged, a haunted look passed over Yoongi's features, but was gone in a flash.

Yoongi visibly shook himself off as they rounded the corner to school "maybe home life isn't the Ritz" he stated, "but hey, it doesn't matter.  As long as I've got you standing by me, I'm covered" he smiled.  Jimin felt momentarily touched at the rare soft centre of the proverbial bad boy peeking through, it gave him a warm feeling in his belly making him smile widely, crinkling those eyes up the way Yoongi loved so much.  Jimin noticed his friend visibly cringe, realising he'd just shown his human, and diffused the embarrassment by clutching his heart dramatically, pretending to faint against the wall, much to the disgust of by-passers "ah, be still my beating heart" he wailed.  Thankful that he'd made Yoongi laugh, they parted ways for their first lessons, Jimin reminding Yoongi that it was library day so he'd just see him tomorrow unless they caught each other in the halls.  Yoongi always made the joke that he'd combust into flames if he ever entered a church or library, and avoided both like the plague.

Later that afternoon, Jimin slumped in the back of the library, contemplating the physics homework he desperately needed to get done.  Looking up he spotted none other than Jeon Jungkook a few tables over, but not without his shadow Taehyung.  Jungkook appeared to be working hard at some project or other, while Taehyung was reading, occasionally looking up, as if to make sure his boyfriend was still there.  His look, thought Jimin was entirely possessive, no trace of love or affection.  It was the cultivated look of ownership, a trophy of lust, and Jungkook was the prize.  Jimin feeling his cheeks redden attempted to keep his eyes down and on his work, reading and re-reading the same question over and over, but it was no good, any hopes of concentration were gone.

Without meaning to, Jimin looked up and was distracted again by the sheer pleasure of looking at the beautiful boy who made his heart quicken.  The slight pout of his lips as he concentrated, his deep chocolate eyes and strong jaw, so masculine, yet so soft, a living contradiction.  It literally hurt his eyes to look at him, but in a good way, and if this made him a sadomasochist, bring it the fuck on he smiled to himself.  He became aware of someone staring at him and realised he'd been caught by the jealous glare Kim Taehyung was throwing at him.  Jungkook had looked up by this point and seen the exchange going on across the library, interested eyes darting between his boyfriend and Jimin, maybe a spark of excitement threatening to glitter behind them.

Taehyung placed a possessive arm around Jungkook who looked between a mixture of confused and uncomfortable, and flashed Jimin a warning smile.  He proceeded to hold up a pencil in his free hand and snapped it in half, intimating what he would do to Jimin's neck if he continued to stare.  It was a loud snap, like the crack of a rifle and echoed around the quiet sedated library, causing many students to look up at the scene playing out.  Jungkook proceeded to say something in his boyfriend's ear and actually looked annoyed with him, casting an apologetic glance over at Jimin with a blush that just made him seem more attractive.  He pulled Taehyung up by the arm, practically dragging him out of the library, interrupting the stand-off between the two new rivals.

After recovering his equilibrium, Jimin continued the rest of his day and was making his way out of school to begin his shift at Sun-min's garage.  "Hey" a voice echoed in the semi empty  halls behind him as he heard running.  Twirling around, he expected another stand off with Taehyung or one of his heavies but was met with a panting Jungkook.  "Hi" Jungkook wheezed catching his breath, flashing Jimin a brilliant smile.  Jimin was taken aback, looking around to see if this was a joke, or trap even.  He seemed to be a nice guy, but he could be just like the rest.

Jungkook seemed to notice his unease and softened saying "It's ok, Tae is at soccer practice, I'm alone". "Oh", was all Jimin managed to muster, feeling tongue tied in the presence of greatness.  "I'm Jungkook" the smiling beauty held his hand out for Jimin to shake.  Jimin took hold of his larger hand, shaking it gently, knowing he was blushing madly at the feel of the softness in the palm of his own. "J-Jimin" he managed to stutter out, mentally screaming at his lack of tongue, staring into his crushes eye's.  "Nice to finally know your name Jimin" Jungkook said softly, showing his bunny grin "you can let go of my hand" he laughed.  "Shit, yeah" Jimin breathed and laughed at his own stupidity.

"I know Tae is giving you a hard time at the moment" he continued, the smile now faltering and his eyes looking downcast.  "He gets a little jealous, you know?" Jungkook stated.  "I guess being on the football team he feels like he needs to act like a dick at times, and I just want you to know that I'm not like that" he paused, looking at Jimin.  "I guess when someone as cute as you is throwing attention my way he feels like it's a pissing contest" he blushed as Jimin's breath hitched taking in the words he'd just heard.

Jungkook looked up, he and Jimin sharing eye contact, both boys blushing fiercely "Anyway" Jungkook cleared his throat, "I just wanted to tell you to be careful, around Tae and the jerks he classes as friends" he explained.  Jimin nodded "thanks" he managed to whisper.  Jungkook grinned at him now, his demeanour brightening again "so cute" he winked before turning and leaving Jimin open mouthed, with a lazy smile forming on his face.  He was on cloud nine and took a moment to compose himself before he floated out of school and onto his job.  Neither Jimin or Jungkook had noticed they had been watched, or heard the breaking of a best friends heart as he listened to the exchange of words, seeing the blushes and subtle flirting from Jungkook.  Yoongi watched the boy he loved virtually skip away from school as he slammed his locker shut, let out a shaky breath and trudged home with the weight of the world on his shoulders.
