Jimin was feeling giddy, nerves and excitement coursing through his veins at this genius plan he'd thought of when planning out the date, and with the help of Yoongi, he'd managed to rope Namjoon in to getting Jin's dad to swap his shift at the gallery in order to give him access for phase two.  "Follow me please gents" smiled Jin as he beckoned them down a silent, solemn corridor of waxed floor and white walls.  "Jimin, this is all very strange" whispered Jungkook nervously, worried that he was about to be sacrificed to some awaiting cult at the end of their journey.  Jimin smiled reassuringly, eyes dancing with unspoken excitement, "you'll understand soon enough, trust me" he said softly entwining Jungkook's hand in his own, feeling the nerves radiating from his date.

At the end of the corridor, in the rotunda facing the main entryway, was a security guards desk.  The guard himself, a small portly, middle aged man was by a door leading to the main part of the art gallery, holding a large bunch of keys.  He nodded as Jin approached with the two well dressed boys behind him and noticed the intertwined hands.  "No funny business in there ok?" he said as the keys jangled towards the door.  "Dad!" exclaimed Jin rolling his eyes "chill it, ok?, please? this is serious artistic stuff!".  Jins dad merely huffed, opened the door and gestured them inside.  He was a pretty decent guy, Jimin had met him on a few occasions as Jin and Namjoon had been inseparable since they were small, and as Yoongi and Jimin usually came as a package deal, it was only natural that he wouldn't refuse the request for help.

Jimin nodded his gratitude at Jin and his dad and placed his hand on the small of Jungkook's back, ushering him through the door.  They continued to walk a little way through the halls of the dimly lit gallery, it was eerily quiet.  Jungkook could hear his own heartbeat rapidly pumping in his ears as he anticipated what Jimin might have planned for him.  To say he found it quite unorthodox and a bit unnerving was an understatement.  He'd been expecting dinner and a movie, perhaps a small stroll around Beamosa pond at the very most.  This was turning into the most unusual date he'd ever been on and he wasn't sure if he was completely happy at Jimin's strange behaviour.

Jimin continued to grin widely as they passed through the hollow and spooky corridors.  Moonlight shone down through skylights, and security lights threw occasional shafts of light across the floors and walls, illuminating bits of Picasso and sections of a Van Gogh.  It all had a shivering feeling of massiveness, silent and forbidden.   Jimin noticed the quiet nervousness of his date and asked "have you ever been here before?", to try and cut the uncomfortable atmosphere that had begun to settle over them.

Their footsteps echoed against the splashes of colour within the wooden frames, "I came with my family once when I was younger" said Jungkook, his nervous voice cascading off the walls.  "I come here all the time, it's my favourite place in Busan, but i've never been here at night, do you like it?"  Jimin questioned, his eyes imploring his date for the right response.   Jungkook thought for a moment and replied "I guess it feels kind of good being somewhere I'm not supposed to be" he smiled.  Jimin nodded, "and being with someone you're not supposed to be with?", he questioned, meeting Jungkook's nervous gaze in the dim light.  "Maybe" agreed Jungkook in a whisper, wondering why he was feeling so hot all of a sudden.

Jimin didn't appear to notice the slight discomfort his train of questioning was having on his date beside him.  "This place is my church" he breathed, "I can come here and what anybody says about me doesn't matter".  He continued to smile as his eyes glittered with a deep passion as he looked around the gallery walls, "You know I'm an artist, right?"  he asked as he stopped walking and stood in front of Jungkook expectantly.  "Sure, and a pretty decent one too, if I recall" he agreed, "plus, it hangs over your head like a little storm cloud, you've got that whole moody hipster vibe going on" Jungkook laughed feeling the mood lighten.

Jimin smiled slyly "well, how's that for a mood?" he asked as motioned for Jungkook to turn around.  He pointed to a large canvas he'd had Jin and his father hang there after closing time that night, right between an pair of abstract paintings.  Jungkook followed the direction his finger was pointing and eyed the painting in front of him, after the seconds it took to register he almost fell over.  It was a painting of him, the one Jimin had spent so many painstaking hours before and after school working on.  He'd finished it only days before the date and the oil was barely dry, and now here it was, hanging in Jimin's favourite place.

Jungkook went and sat down, staring at the painting and smiling in stunned disbelief.  Jimin had captured him in a way he'd never seen himself before, it truly was a masterpiece.  "Like it?" whispered Jimin a little unsure as he sat down on the bench besides him.  Jungkook continued to stare at the painting, tears welling up, "no one has ever done anything like this for me before" he managed to breathe out, "I love it".  "Well, I recall someone once asking me to draw them" smiled Jimin recalling the first time Jungkook acknowledged him at the park that day.

"Thankyou" smiled Jungkook bringing his gaze up to meet Jimin, they were inches apart, close enough to feel each others warm breath in the coolness of the air conditioned gallery.  This was the perfect kiss moment thought Jimin, all he needed to do was lean in and close the gap, so why didn't he do it? what was stopping him?.  Jungkook sensed the hesitation and moved back a little breaking the close proximity that they had found themselves in.  He felt guilty that his initial response was relief rather than disappointment as he took in the profile of the lovely boy besides him.

A throat clearing behind them startled them both out of their reverie as they both spun around to meet a clearly embarrassed Jin "Sorry to interrupt you love birds, but my dad said times up".  Jimin was thankful for the interruption as the air had settled once again into awkwardness between them.  Had he gone too far with the painting? He just wanted Jungkook to know who he was, that he was more than the school joke, he was more than what people made him out to be.

Making their way back out of the back entrance of the gallery, they said goodbye to Jin and asked him to thank his dad.  Namjoon was in a hot and heavy make out session with one of the girls, his hand wedged up her skirt shamefully.  "See ya soon Jimin, Jungkook, nice to meet you" smiled Jin, then rolled his eyes at his friends behaviour in the background as the other girl looked on sulkily, obviously waiting for Jin's attention.

They made their way back to the limo where Yoongi had exited upon seeing them, ready to do his job obediently and open the door.  Jungkook thanked him and got straight in the back seat as Jimin stopped to ask if he was ok.  Yoongi said nothing, merely nodded and stared at the floor, shutting the door with less force than earlier as Jimin climbed in.  Jimin watched Yoongi in the rear view mirror, his eyes seemed a little lifeless and his expression monotone.  He wanted desperately for Yoongi to stop the car, get out and hug his friend until that smile appeared.  He felt torn between the two boys in the limo, one he'd been crushing on for what seemed like forever, and the other he'd loved without question his entire life.
