Jimin had reached the garage in less than the good mood he'd woken up with that morning, his dad just couldn't let it lie for one fucking minute he thought angrily.  He'd been working a few hours when Sun-min announced that he had an out of town break down to collect and for Jimin to shut up shop, throwing him the keys as he set off in the pick up truck.  There was no way Jimin was going home yet, he was probably facing a grounding for the way he'd stormed out and he couldn't be responsible for the words that might come from his mouth if his dad kept on pushing.

He sat there eying up Jungkook's number on his phone, hovering over the call button, feeling nervous with sweaty palms and a rapid heart rate.  Was it too early to call him about their date? had Jungkook even been serious when he said he'd like to go out with him sometime?  No definite plans had been made, and the guy had just broken up with his long term boyfriend, even though the guy was a complete dick and didn't deserve the perfection of Jeon Jungkook.  But, Jimin thought to himself, he had given him his number, and he'd blushed when they talked that night.  That was enought to give him the little confidence boost he needed, and before his mind could will his body to back out, his thumb pressed down on the call icon.

It rang a few times before a confused voice answered on the other end "h..hello, who is this?" questioned Jungkook.  Jimin took a breath and cleared his throat "h..hi Jungkook, it's J..Jimin,  Park Jimin" he stuttered nervously, face palming at his awkwardness.  It was briefly quiet, as Jimin thought he could hear muffled talking from the other end.  "Hi Jimin, it's not a great time right now, I'm just hanging out with my friend Jess" he stated pleasantly "was there something you wanted?".

Jimin was losing his nerve now, but mentally told himself not to be a chicken shit "Yes" he laughed nervously, "I was g..going to ask you about the date we talked about, I mean i..if you wanted to, I mean g..go on a d..date, w...with me?" he blundered, blushing wildly at his obvious nerves.  "Ah, as I said, I can't really talk right now, but why don't we meet up at school Monday?" Jungkook offered politely.  "Oh, ok then" Jimin answered feeling a little dejected.  Jungkook could sense the disappointment and added "I'll look forward to it" before hanging up and leaving a flustered boy with his heart banging on the other end.

Jungkook sighed deeply and flopped down on his bed next to his best friend Jess who had been his shoulder to cry on after their trip to the cinema the night before.  "This time yesterday, I had a boyfriend who I loved, I was happy" he whispered.  He'd put on his brightest, chirpiest Jungkook persona for the boy on the other end of the phone, because thats what he did best.  He was a people pleaser, his whole life he had attempted to make people happy, even when he was miserable.  "Was that THE Jimin?" Jess questioned rubbing his shoulder comfortingly.  "Yes" said Jungkook, "he wants to take me on a date" he stated, not looking remotely happy about it.

"Well, he's cute, a bit quiet maybe, but it'll make Tae's head explode if you do" offered Jess.  "I dunno Jess, I might have used him a little last night to get away from Tae" Jungkook blushed ashamed, "he was so nice, and I just wanted to feel wanted, you know?, I was mad and he stepped in".  Jess nodded a sympathetic head at her friends discomfort, "why don't you just explain that you're not interested, unless maybe you are a little?" she added, noticing Jungkook's blush deepen.  Jungkook stared up at his ceilling contemplating "you know, if I could combine the two, Jimin's kind personality in Tae's body, I think i'd create the perfect man" he chuckled wryly.

"Either way" stated Jess, "It's not fair to string the boy along if you haven't the slightest interest in him, but then again, how will you know if you don't try?  It's only a date, not marriage" she laughed, wiggling her eyebrows, causing Jungkook to giggle and hit her with his pillow.  She always knew how to cheer him up and he was so thankful when she'd called round with chocolate and hugs "ah Jess, why can't I just be straight and marry you" he sighed.  "Because I have Whanno who not only has a big dick, but know's exactly what to do with it, and you my friend are gayer than Christmas" she laughed as they settled into a friendly embrace on his bed.

Unbeknown to the two friends, the shiny black corvette sat across the street from Jungkook's house with an anxious Tae sat behind the wheel.  Half an hour he'd been there, he'd seen Jess greeted by Jungkook with his big red rimmed eyes and broken expression and it had broken his usually steel heart.  What the fuck had he done? Jungkook probably wouldn't take him back this time, and he knew he didn't deserve to be given chance after chance.  It was different this time though, he had a new sensation coursing through his veins, one he hated.  It was remorse, but worse, it was jelousy and the thought that his own stupidity had pushed his boyfriend into the waiting arms of someone else.

He'd left a beautifully expensive bouquet of roses on Jungkook's porch, there was no card, he knew Jungkook would know who they were from.  But he had the sudden urge to go back and retrieve them.  Jungkook wasn't interested in all of that wealth bull shit, he'd never made Tae feel like it was his money he was interested in when they were together.  Thats why he knew that Jimin might stand a chance with the boy he loved.  That fucking art nerd with the cute smile who was obviously smitten and ready to show Jungkook what love was supposed to feel like.  He cursed inwardly as Jess and Jungkook emerged from his house and immediately spied the roses he'd stupidly left.  Now they just appeared a shallow attempt at buying his way back into the boys affections.

He saw Jungkook look up and spot him before he had chance to duck or drive away.  They stared at each other momentarily, before Jungkook turned to Jess saying something he couldn't make out.  They hugged as Jungkook gave the bouquet to his friend and he turned, going back into the house, not giving Tae another glance.   "Fuck" sighed Tae, knowing that he'd royally messed up this time, he'd finally pushed so hard that he'd broken what they had.  Revving the car into gear, he pulled away before the tears he was holding fell, not knowing that the boy on the other side of the closed door was a crumpled heap of sobbing mess.

Jungkook had held himself together well, his heart had lurched when he'd seen Taehyung, half wanting him to run over and tell him how sorry he was.  But no, the self centred asshole was throwing his wons about again thinking that he could buy his forgiveness and manipulate him back into his web of lies, for whatever sadistic pleasure he seemed to get from hurting him time after time.  He wasn't going to fall for it again, and if that meant moving on, then so be it.  In that moment Jungkook decided he would give the quiet boy with the bright eyes and angelic smile a chance.  But why did he not feel butterflies erupt at the thought of a new relationship? Why was he crouched down now on the hallway floor sobbing at his broken heart?
