DAY TWO
1215 HOURS
LOCATION- EARTH, BARNSLEY, ENGLAND
-
The sunlight crept into the room as I adjusted my body on the plush mattress beneath me. I yawned once more before jolting up in an unfamiliar environment. In confusion, my gaze swept across the room, Why was I on a bed? Sitting up I rubbed my eyebrows. Jaz was sitting opposite me on a laptop, searching god know what. I still hadn't figured out how you even used that fragile piece of technology. On the other side, Eli slept, his hands draping across the bed. I yawned again and got out of bed. The material of the jeans clung to my legs and I felt uncomfortable. Alex and Michael also slept on the other side of the room.
"Hey," I said walking towards Jaz.
"Hey, Phye," she said, I looked at her surprised, she called me Phye. Only Eli calls me that. I raised my eyebrow at her.
"Only I call her Phye," Eli muttered from his sleep, I smiled despite myself, taking a moment to gaze at Eli's sleeping face. One of his eyes opened to reveal his bright green eyes before they closed again, a sort of smug look covering his face.
"Are you okay," I asked, turning back to Jaz, concerned. She was acting differently. Distant.
"Yeah, fine, why."
"How did I get here," I asked.
"We searched for a hotel once you both fell asleep," Jaz said looking at me and Alex in disgust, "Then we delayed the time and we booked a hotel." I glanced at her surprised, she was acting really weird, like she didn't know me.
"Yeah, but how did I get here, I didn't walk," I said being equally rude to her.
"I carried you," Eli said from behind me. He was now sitting on his bed and eyeing Jaz with a cold composure.
"Again," I asked, then as an afterthought asked another one, "Through the street?" I closed my eyes in embarrassment.
"Yes," he said roughly and got up, walking away from us.
"Nothing," I said whilst shaking my head.
"So, what you looking for," I asked Jaz in an attempt to make conversation. She shrugged.
"Where's Ty," I asked again.
"I dunno, it's not like I control him." At this, both my eyebrows raised, and I stared at her, shook.
"Okay," I mumbled getting up to leave her alone.
"Just don't take everything personally, Sapphire," she said in a sassy tone, her normally happy eyes, glazing over me in hatred. I could do nothing but whisper.
"Yeah."
Eli came out of the bathroom and froze next to the door as his eyes met mine. I barely bothered to register his presence but when I looked up, I was met with a questioning stare.
'Nothing,' I sent to him and then trudged over to the bathroom.
When I came out, everyone stood before me completely ready to leave, I tilted my head in question.
"We're going," Jaz said. I nodded slowly. Maybe... I had didn't have any other pair of clothes except this, so I guess we're leaving now.
"Ready," I mumbled.
"Do we have a plan or anything," I asked.
"Aren't you the leader, aren't you supposed to tell us," Jaz scoffed. I stood still, all my muscles feeling stiff. I was too confused to be angry at her, so I chose to ignore her.
