"So, sam tells me you used to play the piano?" Sebastion leaned against the pool table as you sat on the nearby chair by Abby. She raised an eyebrow as you rubbed the beck of your next.
"Oh yeah, a long time ago...once I started working at joja I never had time to play and once I moved out here I couldn't take my piano. why do you ask?" Sebastion smiled and waved towards the main area, where a bit of a commotion could be heard. He leads you over, and that's when you saw a soft cream-colored piano sitting in the corner by the jukebox. You looked around the room as you covered your mouth in surprise.
"You guys...did this?" Your hands shooke as robin gently patted your shoulder.
"Well your second year is coming to an end and we wanted to thank you for everything you've done for us..." Lewis nodded as raised his glass towards you with a gentle smile.
"For the community center-"
"For all of your business." Pierre, Marnie, Gus, and Willy all nodded.
"For being a good neighbor." Jodi, caroline, kent and a few other townspeople patted you on the back.
"For being a good friend...no matter what." Shane ruffled your hair as the other bachelors and bachelorettes hugged you and gave you kisses on the cheek. You smiled at them all, they were your family. You belonged. Without them, you didn't know where you would be, or who you would be.
Suddenly the group of boys started to drag you over to the piano. Haley smiled and fixed your hair as you sat down, Sam gave you a thumbs up while the others smiled brightly at you.
"You have to play something!" She looked down at you brightly before walking over to Emily.
You looked out at the group of townspeople, who you've helped for two years now. Hours talking, giving and helping them. Getting to know their flaws. Helping them with your problems. Softly you ran your fingers along with the keys before slowly starting to play.
"Welcome to Wonderland, we've got it all," You softly sang as you closed your eyes. " Potions and pastries that make you grow tall." Pierre and Harvey smiled proudly ((I mean Harvey has saved my ass with that energy tonic ngl.))
"Forests and cottages, castles and cards that can talk." Marnie held Jaz's hand as Shane looked over at them. Marnie looked back at you teary-eyed.
"Welcome to Wonderland, look where you're at. Maddest of hatters, the Cheshire Cat. Magical cabins and lovely white rabbits with clocks " In the distance, the wizard smiled as he watched you from his tower using his cauldron. A junimo jumped up onto his lap to watch along, he gently patted its head as he watched you, you had come so far for this valley.
"Dancing through a dream underneath the stars," Looking up you glanced at the townspeople with a shy look. " Laughing 'til the morning comes, Everyone that leaves has a heavy heart, oh, Wonderland I love..."
"Welcome to Wonderland, I'll be your guide." Robin and lewis chuckled when you winked at them. "Holding your hand under sapphire skies." Haley smiled softly at Emily, she hugged her from the side.
"Let's go exploring or we could just go for a walk." Abby gently grabbed Sebastian's hand, while sam grabbed the other. The two laughed when they saw sam in tears, sniffling and muttering about how good you were.
"Welcome to Wonderland, where should we go, There's a tea party along down the road." Evelyn hummed along while holding Georges's hand. He huffed but softly closed his eyes while listening. Alex gently patted Evelyn's shoulder.
"Dancing through a dream, Underneath the stars. Laughing till the morning comes" You voice shooke as tears fell down your cheeks. Your hands shook slightly as you shut your eyes tightly. "Everyone that leaves has a heavy heart, Oh, Wonderland, I love...."
"Nothing around here is quite as it seems, Not sure if anything is real or a dream." Robin laid her head on Demetrius's shoulder. Marlon looked at Gil and sighed when he heard him softly snoring. "And the only thing sure from the start, Is the song that's inside of your heart...Don't let it leave"
"If this was a dream then at least I've got. Memories for when morning comes." Vincent jumped up onto your lap, Jaz sat down next to you on the seat. You ruffled his hair as you looked down at them.
"Now that I must leave with a heavy heart. Oh, Wonderland, I love....I love...." The last key rang out sweetly. Vincent squirmed out of your lap back to his family, you placed your hands into your lap as you looked down. Tears tracked down your cheeks.
The next thing you knew you were being crowded by crying villegers. Clint and Linus stayed a bit behind but reached in to pat you on the back. Robin was holding you in a death grip while caroline held your head.
"Don't cry, sweetheart!" Caroline cupped your face in a motherly way. Robin nodded.
"That was so cool dude!" Alex excitingly grabbed your hands. "I didn't know you were so talented!"
"What's that supposed to mean." Maru and the other girls nodded from behind her. "(y/n) is super talented!"
"They make amazing clothes!" Emily waved at your outfit which made you blush.
"They are an inspiration!" Elloit flipped his hair back, accidentally smacking harvey. "Whoops!"
"They are good with kids." Penny shyly looked up at you as Jaz and vincent jumped up and down wanting you to hold them.
"And they are the bestest friend you could ever want.." Shane smiled at you as he raised his joja cola. You smiled back before looking around the room. Every face held a story, a relationship, they were all a family. Everyone made up a piece of a larger narrative. Everyone needed each other, and now...
You were part of that family, and you wouldn't be leaving any time soon.
BONUS
Krobus and the dwarf sat in front of you as you set up the keyboard that you had bought. The piano stayed in the saloon, where you played every Friday night for everyone. But since Krobus and the Dwarf couldn't exactly attend the Saloon you started coming down every Sunday to play for them.
Every once in awhile the Wizard would join you with a crowd of Junimos, and sometimes the Henchman from the witch's hut would come down. When he showed up the wizard usually bombarded him with questions until he ran away.
You smiled at your audience, slightly odd but a part of the family none the less. Krobus cheered when you started to play, the dwarf nodding along. He still was wary of the Shadow people but he enjoys your music enough to deal with the over-energetic Krobus.
The wizard smiled from the corner of the sewer, shaking his head slightly. He had a lot to tell your grandfather about, he would be proud of you...He turned and teleported away as you laughed at the two creatures.
((Im totally not crying over this game rn in class HAHAH.))
