(( Sorry that it's so short, it's one am rn and I don't know why I decided to write Shane shit at one am but here's I am. This will have another part, I might work on the Sebastian story next but we will see. Enjoy!))
"I don't know you. Why are you talking to me?"
"Um well....because I want to!"
That's how it all started, a normal day where Shane walked his normal route like always. It was all fine until he ran into a short little farmer standing next to pierres shop. He tried to sneak past but the minute you saw him he was practically trapped
"What's your name? I'm still getting to know everyone in town." You smiled brightly, you were so happy and bright he almost flinched.
"Don't you have work to do." Shane grumbled as he shifted between his feet. You chuckled lightly as you leaned against your shovel, that he hadn't noticed until now. You quickly pushed a strand of your hair back from your face, he studied your features with a squinted glance.
"Nope! Well yes, but I need some seeds!" You smiled some how, even brighter at him. God that smile made him sick, it was like a unicorn threw up.
"I'm busy, can't you tel-"
"Hello Shane!" Great another one...
"Hey Gus." Gus smiled at him warmly before turning to the farmer. Her eyes light up at the sight of another potential friend. He watched as you grinned up at Gus.
"Howdy!" Ugh could this be any worse? " My name is (y/n), I just moved into Songhill farm, was my grandpas old place." Shane couldn't help but look at you confused, growing up he knew your grandfather and had been on the farm many times. Before he got sick and the farm slowly became over run. Back then it was still nice, and Shane bothered to go out of his way to make friends.
"Well hello there! I'm Gus, chef and owner of the Stardrop Saloon. Stop in if you need any refreshments. I've always got hot coffee and cold beer at the ready."
"Good to know Gus, it was nice to meet you both! Hopefully I'll see you boys around" you have a small salute to Shane before turning and sauntering into the shop. He scoffed as you walked away. Gus smiled gently at Shane.
"She seems nice!"
Yes, annoyingly so
((TWO WEEKS LATER))
"It's impossible, she's everywhere....when I walk to work she always talks to me, when I'm at the saloon she's there offering to buy me drinks, hell even at home she's there, talking to marina." Shane slammed his head on the saloon table. Gus was cleaning out a glass behind the counter, chuckling at the distressed man in front of him.
"Have you tried talking to her? She's very nice. Especially getting you all those drinks." Gus smiled wide at Shane, who grunted from his spot at the bar.
"Buh...Every time I try something new it goes horribly wrong. You learn to just stay in a shell."
"Well I, think she's gonna crack that shell, city girls can be persistent!" Gus chortled as he slid Pam another glass. Shane raised his head with a eyebrow raise.
"City girl? What do you me-"
"Gus! Shane! Good to see you two!" Your voice cut off Shane, practically bouncing around the room.
Shane sighed as you slid in to the seat next to him. He held his beer glass closer to him as he glanced over at you.
You had lost some weight just from the two weeks you were here, you also had your hair tied up away from your face and your pant legs were dirty with soil. You had a vibrant smile as always, that made him less sick these days and just....kinda happy. He couldn't lie, in a way you were really pretty, god what was he thinking! Softly you tucked a pierce of your hair back before nodding at Gus.
"Give us a round Gus! I got lots of work done and it needs some celebrating." Nodding, gus started filling up two more glasses. You turned in your seat and smiled at the still semi angry man next to you. He sighed again as he looked up at you.
"I'm surprised that you're still trying to make friends with me. Haven't I been rude enough to you yet?" You tilted your head in confusion, you looked like a puppy. Shane almost found,it cute in a weird way.
"What do you mean Shane? I thought we WERE friends!" He rolled his eyes as he scoffed. You leaned closer and tilted your head the other way. "Do you not...want to be my friend?"
He felt something inside his chest when you said that. Your eyes looked sad and you weren't smiling for once, it almost scared him. Swallowing he shook his head and set his almost empty drink back down. Your eyes still bore into him. Almost as if he said no he would be personally breaking the heart of a angel, he couldn't live with the guilt.
"You're really persistent. I guess I'm just surprised that anyone would be interested in talking to me...."
"Ah pish posh, I think your super interesting." You waved your hand as Gus slid you the drinks. Smiling you gave him a small salute, it seemed to be your thing, sometimes when you said goodbye, or hello, or just in acknowledgment.
He fidgeted with the drink before clearing his throats slightly. Your eyes glanced back at him.
"Well Hey. Sorry if I came off as rude when we first met. It takes me a while to warm up to strangers" you smiled at him softer, a gentle smile only for him. Shane couldn't help TE blush that crossed his cheeks.
"It's alright chicken boy, you can make it up to me by coming over some time. Dinner, you can come meet the new additions to the crew." You winked, he figured you meant the chickens that you had bought recently from marnie. Shane smiled at you softly, he could see the pure happiness in your eyes from making him smile.
"I would like that....farm girl."
TO BE CONTINUED! Maybe....idk probably tbh.
