Chapter 14 : Heartbroken

        The library was crowded. It was unusual for the library to be crowded on weekdays. The students came to library to study for their upcoming test. Zed was reading his notes. The library was cold enough to make Zed shivered as he didn't brought his sweater. Suddenly, a warm hug was felt by Zed. He looked at his shoulder and saw a thick warm sweater was covering him.

" Don't freeze yourself. You will fall sick if you let yourself shiver like this," Tommy said to Zed. " Tommy.. " Zed said softly. Tommy sat beside him. " You don't have to do this.. here.. " Zed took the sweater off him and passed it to Tommy. " Just wear it Zed. I don't want you to get sick before tests," Tommy insisted Zed to wear the sweater.

Zed hesitated whether to wear or not. Tommy took the sweater and covered Zed. The warmness of the sweater not only made Zed's body felt warm but also his heart. He felt the sincerity that Tommy showed through his action. Then, Tommy took out his notes and started to read his notes. Zed kept on looking at him. He cracked a warm smile and continued to read.

A question popped up in Zed's mind. He was curious why Tommy was being nice to him eversince that day. " Tommy.." Zed called Tommy softly. Tommy stopped reading and looked at Zed and replied, " Yes ?". " Umm.. err.. you.. uhhh you," Zed stammered his words. He was unsure of asking the question or not.

" Zed ?" Tommy was curious of what Zed wanted to ask. " Umm.. nothing .." Zed continued to read his notes. Tommy was still looking at Zed. He really wanted to know what was the question but he didn't want to force him. The silence filled the air. Both of them read silently. Zed couldn't really focus with his revision as he kept on wondering about the question.

" Hey guys. I'm sorry I'm late !" Aaron sat down in front of Zed and Tommy. His breaths were heavy. He seemed exhausted from the running. Zed could saw a layer of foundation on Aaron's face. " You wore make up ?"  Zed asked his best friend. " Um yeah .. I got performance just now. Since I've been studying all night, I got a very dark circles below my eyes. So i had to wear make up," explained Aaron then took a deep breath as he was losing breath when he spoke.

" Ohh.. So this is your first performance right ?" Tommy asked. Aaron nodded as he took out his notes from his bag. " Congrats yeaa for your first performance," Tommy congratulated Aaron. "Thanks," Aaron smiled and they continued to read. " Wow, Tommy, I didn't know you would be here with a sissy !" an unknown boy voiced out his opinion. All of them looked at the boy.

" Shut up Harry !" Tommy defended Zed. He knew that his classmate, Harry hates gay. Since Zed is openly gay so people knew his sexual orientation. Harry didn't know Tommy is a bisexual. " Why would you be with this filthy gay ?" Harry provoked. Zed just kept his head down as he was afraid to fight back. " Harry ! " Tommy yelled. " Four of you ! Shut up or leave the library !" the librarian warned them.

" Faggot , please leave this place," Harry whispered to Zed. "Stop it dude ! What's your problem ?" Aaron fought for his best friend as he could heard the whisper.  " My problem ? I just can't stand looking at this filthy gay," Harry said annoyingly. He didn't know about Aaron's relationship so he pinned the hate to Zed. " This asshole ! " Tommy got up and wanted to punch Harry for his filthy mouth.

Zed stopped Tommy by holding his hand down. " Don't ! It's not worth it," Zed said slowly. " Harry , just go away if hate looking at Zed. You are wasting your energy and time, " Aaron asked Harry to go away. Zed packed his stuff and marched his way out of the library.

"You better watch your mouth next time or else !" Tommy was so mad at his classmate. He packed his notes and followed Zed. Aaron also packed his stuff as his mood to study was spoiled. " If you think being gay is filthy, you should listen to your filthy mouth too. Being gay is not a problem but acceptance of the society is the problem. You think you are perfect because you are straight ? Think again dude, " Aaron said with sarcastic tone. He gave Harry the bitch look and walked out of the library.
