Chapter 27 : Hold Me Tight

It was a gloomy day. Aaron stood beside a tombstone. He kneeled down to put a beautiful bouquet of white carnation flower as the sign of 'Remembrance' on the grave. A drop of tears fell on the grave. He swept away some dried leaves off the tombstone. He rubbed the tombstone while his tears were flowing smoothly down his cheeks.

" I'm so jealous of you. You went to a good place earlier than me," Aaron said with his weak voice.

He got up on his feet as he was wiping his tears. He took a deep breath to calm himself. Aaron smiled weakly. The man left him with such a short memories but they were precious to him. He accepted the fact that people come and go but he didn't expect it to be this early.

" I will be strong for you. Be happy," Aaron whispered to the air.

He turned around and walked away from the tombstone. He was zoning out as he walked to the car. Before he got into the car, he took one last glance to the graveyards. " Take care, " he said slowly and entered the car. His face was looking down after he got into the car. Suddenly, his hands was grabbed by someone. His hands were raised and a kiss was given on his hand.

" He's gone but he will always be with us, babe," the man comforted his lover.

Aaron looked at the man and smiled.

" Thank you, Eugene, " Aaron replied.

" Hey ! Why you called me by my name ? Call me babe too !" Eugene complained to his lover.

Aaron giggled. " Okay, babe~" he replied.

Yes, Eugene survived the car crash. He was lucky to have Aaron to take care of him when he was hospitalized. Eugene had a fractured ribs and broke his right leg. Lucky enough that he didn't slip into coma. Doctor said that he was lucky that he didn't lost so much blood. He had to wear the orthopedic cast on his leg for a few months to recover.

Unfortunately, it was not lucky for Kai. He didn't survive the tumor removing surgery. The tumor was bigger than it was reported. After the surgery, he was only living with the help of the machines because his brain was dead. His parents decided to let him go so that he wouldn't suffer. The tombstone was Kai's. Aaron didn't had the time to come for his funeral because he was having final examination and taking care of Eugene.

" Babe, you already visited Kai's grave so now we should go to eat your favourite food," Eugene begged the young man.

" Okay, Let's get Hainanese Chicken Rice then," Aaron drove the car slowly. Leaving the graveyards area.

The BBQ restaurant was crowded with people as it was Friday night. The smoke from each tables were releasing a good smell of grilled meat. Zed was busy grilling the meat on the grilling plate. " Aahh. " Tommy was feeding Zed with a spoon of rice with a slice of grilled meat on top. Zed ate the rice and smiled. " Thanks babe !" he said cheerfully.

Aaron helped Eugene to walk as Eugene was using the crutches to walk. " Let me help you," Aaron insisted to help. " Just sit down. I can do it myself," Eugene was stubborn and firmly said that he could handle it. Aaron was worried that Eugene might fell because he is a quite clumsy guy. Zed and Tommy stared at the two while they were grinning. " Aow, you two are like married couple. Fighting over little things," Zed had to spit the facts out.

Aaron stared at Zed while his eyes were squinting. Zed grinned even harder. He knew that Aaron hated the way he teased Aaron but he couldn't help but to  tease his friend. " Stop talking , start eating," Tommy interrupted as he was enjoying the grilled meat.

They grilled the meat together and started to eat. The meat was greasy but with the help of lettuce wraps, the oily taste can be lessen. Eugene started to make a wrap for Aaron. Firstly, he took the lettuce wrap. He put a spoonful of rice on it. Then, he took a slice of grilled meat from the grilling plate and placed it on the rice. He took some slices of garlic and put them on the wrap. He wrapped the lettuce and turned to Aaron.
