Tension

Kairi's POV

I walked with Y/n and Mattia to the usual lunch spot and waited for the others to arrive, Alvaro and Roshaun came running up to us.
Alvaro: Dude what happened with Alejandro?
Y/n: Dijo que todavía siente algo por mí. (He said he still has feelings for me.)
Alvaro nodded his head to the left and we saw him sitting at the table, Y/n rolled her eyes and walked away.

Mattia: Where are you going?
Y/n: Just to the bathroom, I'll be right back.
She kissed his cheek and walked off as he turned to face me with a bright red, happy looking face. I couldn't help but smile as well, I loved seeing my best friends happy with each other.

I looked back at Alejandro who was on his phone, I was still fuming at what he did earlier, he had no right to go and attempt to ruin their relationship as its just beginning. I noticed Alvaro and Roshaun were talking to him, I assumed it was about what happened earlier because I could tell he was getting annoyed. Mattia and I looked at each other before we decided to join them at the table, Alex glanced up at us as we sat down. Mattia sat silently, immediately pulling his phone out indicating he had no interest in talking to him or even looking at him.

Y/n suddenly popped up and sat in between Mattia and I, she turned to me and started whispering.
Y/n: Has Alejandro said anything to y'all?
I shook my head.
You: He's just looked at us, I'm pretty sure he can sense how mad we still are.

She sighed and glanced over at him.
Y/n: What did he tell you before, ya know, the whole situation?
I inhaled deeply, I know she wanted to hear what he had to say, but she didn't need too. Her mood would be completely ruined for the rest of the day.
You: Well—
Y/n: And please don't fabricate it, I wanna hear the whole truth.
I nodded.
You: He said that although he's super happy for you and Mattia, he doesn't wanna see you two end up together. He's gonna attempt to get back at you before you fall in love with Mattia because—

I paused for a second, she looked at my nervous face and shot me a tiny smile. I took a small breath before finishing that sentence.
You: Because he's convinced himself that he's in love with you...
Her expression immediately changed, she looked fearful and nervous. I gently placed my hand on top of hers and attempted to calm her down, she took a couple deep breaths before glancing at Alex who was already staring at her.

She smiled a nervous at me as she squeezed my hand, she faced Mattia and laid her head on his shoulder.

I hated having to do that, I can't even imagine what's going through her mind right now.

Your POV

Why did I have to ask? I would've been better off not hearing that, god I'm so stupid. I have to tell Mattia, I want him to be able to trust and know that I won't leave him for Alejandro.

I was so deep in thought that jumped a tiny bit as I felt Mattia put his arm around me, he noticed.
Mattia: Are you alright?
I shook my head and sat up straight, he looked at me.
Mattia: Wanna talk?
I nodded and we got up and went to an area where we knew we could get some privacy.

I sat down and he sat next to me, I'm pretty sure he could tell I was nervous. He gently placed his hand on my leg and shot me a faint smile, I took a deep breath.
You: Kai told me about what Alex said before the whole fiasco...
Mattia: And what did he say?
I really didn't want to tell him because I didn't want him angrier than he already was, he placed his hand on mine and squeezed it a tiny bit.
You: He- he said that Alex said that he's happy for us...
Mattia: But?
You: But he's gonna attempt to get me back before I fall in love with you...
He let go of my hand and clenched his jaw, I wrapped my arms around him as an attempt to get him to calm down.

Mattia: Did he say anything else?
He popped his knuckles as he spoke, I could tell exactly how mad he was because I was just as mad.
You: I- I don't wanna make you more mad...
He looked over at me as I scratched the back of my neck, he pulled me into a hug.
Mattia: I'll stay calm, I just don't like the way he's talking about you.
I sighed and sat up straight.
You: He said he's in love with me...
He lost his cool at that, he was now fully standing, glaring at the table we were once sitting at. I stood next to him and wrapped myself around him, I could feel how tense he was.

You: I'm sorry he's being like this, but I want you to know that you don't have anything to worry about, all the feelings I used to have for him are completely gone. You're the only one I want.
He looked down a bit and slowly eased into hugging me back, I looked up at him mid hug and smiled. He smiled back and placed a tiny kiss on my forehead.

He held my hand as we walked back to the table and Kai looked at us as we sat, I nodded at him indicating what I had just done. He looked down at his feet, I rubbed his hair causing him to look up at me.

You: He's alright, he'll be alright, it was the just right thing to do. Besides, he knows I wouldn't choose Ale over him.
Kairi smiled as he nodded.
Kai: I'm really happy for you guys, honestly, I love seeing you two happy. I hope y'all stay together, even if Alex tries to ruin what you guys have.

I chuckled a tiny bit as he continued talking.
Kai: I just have one question.
You: Hit me.
Kai: Do you love him?

Do you love Mattia? Maybe you do, and maybe you're scared to tell anyone because you don't know if the time is right. You have only been officially dating for 2 months, although you've been together since prom which took place in April. I don't know? I guess we'll just have to wait and see😉😉
