I sat in between two kids I didn't know and tried to control my nerves. Principal: Kairi Cosentino. I watched Kai walk up and grab his diploma, I felt myself about to cry. He walked right past me and shot me a smile before walking back to his seat.
A.N: I don't know when your last name comes in the alphabet so I'm just gonna put you in a random spot I'm sorry.
Principal: Robert Georges. As Rob got up, my nerves flared.
It's almost my turn and I'm scared, this is really it.
Principal: Mattia Polibio. I watched my boy walk up with the brightest smile on his face, he shook the principals hand and grabbed the diploma.
My row stood up and went up to the stage. My nerves were getting worse and worse by the second until. Principal: Y/n Y/l/n. I took a deep breath and walked up onto the stage with a smile. The principal shook my hand and handed me the diploma, as I walked off the stage, I caught a glimpse of my parents. My mom was crying and my dad was consoling her and my aunt was crying too. I smiled as I sat back down.
It took a while for the ceremony to finish but as the valedictorian finished their speech and the principal announced that we were finished, every cap on the field was high in the air as we all shouted. I immediately ran up to my parents and hugged them tightly. You: I did it guys! They hugged me back tightly as I started to cry. Mom: We are beyond proud of you honey! I removed myself from the hug and went to hug my auntie, she was crying a bit. You: Aw don't cry auntie. Carl: You and Robert are just so grown up, I'm so very proud of you. She smiled as she pulled Robert into a hug, he hugged her back as tight as she hugged him. I walked up to my parents and grabbed their hands. You: Theres a few people I want you to meet. I guided them over to Mattia and his parents and took a deep breath as we approached. You: Mom, dad, this is Mattia, my boyfriend. Mattia: It's a pleasure to finally meet you guys. He shook their hands and introduced his parents to mine as he pulled me into a hug. You: We fucking did it. He pressed his forehead against mine and smiled his sweet little smile. Mattia: We made it baby.
Mattia, Kairi and I moved into an apartment in New York City and lived with each other for about 3 years until Kai got a girlfriend and moved in with her. Alex and Katie ended up getting married right out of high school and have 2 kids, Sierra and Dominik. Alvaro met Dayna, his girlfriend, in college and has yet to marry her. Roshaun enlisted in the military. And Rob married a supermodel and lives in L.A.
You: Dad and I had been together for about 6 years before we finally got married and had you. Olivia: Really? I nod and stroke the side of her head. You: Yes ma'am, now come on, he'll be here any minute and you wanna surprise him don't you? She nods and runs out of the room as I slowly follow behind her, she climbs onto the couch and sits there patiently waiting for Mattia's arrival. I sit next to her and she rests her head in my lap until she hears the door open. Olivia: Daddy! She springs up and runs up to Mattia who lifts her high into the air. Mattia: Livi! He holds her gently as he plants a kiss on my lips. Olivia: Dad—
She whispers something in his ear and I observe how alike they look, she looks just like him. I smile a bit to myself as they both look at me. Mattia: Mommy told you the story? She nods. Mattia: Well that's very nice of mommy isn't it? She nods again and hugs him tightly again, burying her face in his neck. He smiles at me and walks her into her room and lays her on her bed, he pulls the covers over her and kisses her forehead. Mattia: Goodnight baby, I'll see you in the morning ok?
She falls fast asleep within minutes as Mattia lightly closes her door before slumping on the couch next to me, he puts his arm around me and lifts my chin to look up at him. You: How was the trip? Mattia: Long, but I got the promotion. I smile and kiss him softly causing a smile in return. Mattia: Can we go to bed? I'm exhausted. You: Of course, come on. I lead him to the room and watch him fall face first onto the bed, he smiles at me as I lay next to him. Mattia: I love you y/n. You: I love you too.
