Noel's Point Of View

After changing my clothes, I slipped on a pair of flats. I brushed my hair. My other clothes were dirty and my hair is nappy. It was everywhere. I taken a nap.

I hear a car door shut. The doorbell rings. I'm pretty sure that it's Luke. I hear him talking to Aunt Cathy. She calls for me and I walked downstairs.

I said bye to Aunt Cathy and followed Luke into his car. I got inside and we're on our way to his friend's house. I didn't even want to go. I didn't even know what my mouth was thinking. My mind and mouth don't work together. I told myself that I was going to avoid Luke and everyone else that tried to become friends with me.

I'm doing a good job.. note the sarcasm.

We pulled up to a house. It's quite a average-sized house. Luke helped me out the of the car and he lead me to Calum's front door. He walked in and I awkwardly stood in the doorframe.

"Calum!" Luke yelled. I hear footsteps and a boy with black hair walks downstairs. "You remember Noel, right?"

Calum nodded and smiled. "You were at Ashton's the other day, weren't you?"

I nodded and he slightly laughed. Calum lead me and Luke downstairs and into the basement. There's two leather couches, a coffee table, a huge tv that sits in the corner of the basement.

"So, uh," Calum said. "This is the basement. You can stay here while I get some snacks."

Luke nodded and sat on the couch. I stood there in the middle of room, not knowing what to do. It's very quiet between me and Luke. It's awkward. I think I've said that almost five times.

"So, uh, why'd you move here?" Luke asked, breaking the silence.

"My mother wanted me to have new start in life," I said.

Luke nodded. "Sounds interesting. I think you'll like it here. I mean, how long have you been here?"

"I, uh, been here for almost a month, I think."

Luke nodded. His friend comes back down, but with two other guys and Lauren.

"Oh, thank god! I was worried I was going to be the only one here!" Lauren said, sitting next to me.

I nodded slowly and looked around the room. My eyes laid on the two other guys. I've seen them before. I don't even remember their names from that night because I wasn't even paying attention. I swear the other dude's hair was blue last week.

I don't even know why I came here. I don't want to socialize with anyone here. I promised myself to keep to myself and not fall in anyone's trap, I wish I could've kept that promise and now I'm getting involve with people I don't even care to get to know.

After two hours of awkward time at Calum's, it's time for me to go home. Luke offered to take me home. I got in the car and he drove me to my house.

"So, uh, thanks for coming along," Luke said. "I think Lauren was more thrilled than ever."

I grinned lightly and opened the door. I got out and walked towards the porch.

"Bye, Noel!" Luke yelled.

I stopped and turned around. I waved back and I went inside. I changed into a pair of basketball shorts and a open-sided tank. I slipped on a pair of fuzzy socks and slid into my bed. I snuggled into the blankets and drifted off to sleep.
