HE WAS SURE all the training he'd been doing would pay off in the festival. He'd been the one working the hardest in preparation for the event. If anyone deserved to get top place, it was him.

The class was in the waiting room that read Class 1-A. Everyone was rather disappointed they had to wear their gym suits for this.

"Aww man, I was hoping I'd get to wear my hero costume!" whined Ashido.

"Don't worry, everyone was to wear it. That'll keep things fair, right?" reassured Oijirou.

"I wonder what they have in store for us in the first round," pondered Sato nervously.

"No matter what they've prepared, we must persevere," said Tokoyami firmly.

"Right," agreed Shoji.

Iida burst into the room, already yelling. "Everyone! Get your game faces on, we're entering the arena soon! For now, I'd like to do a head count to get an idea of how many people have arrived!"

Bakugou sat back as Four Eyes counted everyone, impatient for them to start heading there. His eyes wandered the waiting room that contained the majority of 1-A. She's not here after all. What a coward.

The class finally noticed it too. "What's up? (L/n) still hasn't shown up yet," Yaoyorozu frowned.

"She's probably running late, ribbit," Asui chimed in beside her.

Bakugou noticed how the three people (L/n) was around the most, the one with the round face, Four Eyes, and Deku, looked at the ground in some sort of sadness.

"Tch." It annoyed him.

"Then let's hope she arrives on time! We must make a good example of class 1-A!" said Iida, pushing his glasses up.

"Mhm!" A lot of students made various degrees of sounds of agreement.

But the clock was ticking. Todoroki had even picked a fight with Deku, with Deku surprisingly sticking up for himself. But the way he said he'd be aiming for the top as well made Bakugou grit his teeth.

"Is she seriously not coming?" Kaminari rose an eyebrow.

"That's pretty risky, there's no way, right?" Kirishima looked at the blond.

"Attention all first year students! Please start heading towards the main arena and await further instructions! Thank you!"

They all got up and made their way there. It was surprisingly quiet, maybe because of everyone's nerves and (L/n)'s disappearance. It's not like Bakugou cared though. That only meant there'd be one less digit on his list of competition that day.
