SO IT WAS always a one-on-one match with a bit of spice each time. (L/n) rubbed her eyes. Guess I should've researched or asked Izukyuu before.

"Come closer to draw lots and see who you're up against!" Midnight winked. "Then enjoy the pleasure of recreational games before we get started!"

It was tough to decide whether it was a good thing or not. On one hand, she'd have time to think of how to fight against her opponent and whether she'd deliberately lose or not. One the other, she would have no joy in the games at all with this new information. She'd sit out on the games for now.

Midnight readied to have the first place team choose, until Oijirou and a Class 1-B boy withdrew, with Midnight allowing it for NSFW reasons.

After moving up two students and everything, they showed who would be fighting who.

For the first round in the tournament, (L/n)'s chest raced when she saw she'd be battling against the smartest girl in the class, Yaoyorozu. Shit, she was kind of hoping to go against someone easier, but the raven haired lady wasn't such a bad person to lose to. It would be an honor to fall under Yaoyorozu's hand.

"May the best man win," she smiled calmly and shook hands with the girl. Their handshake was clammy.

"Yes, exactly," Yaoyorozu said, but she looked nervous.

Looking at the other names, she was surprised Midoriya was fighting with that General Studies boy who showed up once. Shamefully, she'd forgotten about him until then. Still, she wondered how it'd go down. Shinsou didn't look too physically strong, so Midoriya would probably overpower him. Still, she didn't know what the indigo haired clad's Quirk or strengths were, so it might've been too soon to tell.

And then it was Todoroki and Sero. Those two were talented, but she knew it was more likely for Todoroki to win, even with how harshly it sounded. She'd keep her eye on Sero though, since he was nice and easy to talk to.

And next was..

Uraraka and Bakugou.

"Uraraka? Who's that?" Bakugou stared at the screen while Uraraka was mortified.

Oh well.

If (L/n) won against Yaoyorozu, she'd be up against Todoroki, and she didn't want that. She frowned and put a hand on her hip as she analyzed the tournament chart. Yeah, Yaoyorozu deserved the win, so she'd go easy. Minimum effort, I guess, she shrugged.

"Hey, um.."

There was a tap on her shoulder. "(Y/n)-Chan, can we talk?" asked Midoriya.

Absolutely not. "Hm? Sure," she blinked.

They sat in the waiting room together, both of them being up in the next tournament. "I see. So, you already talked to Oijiro about that, huh?"

"Yeah," he nodded. "But, that's not what I wanted to talk to you about. Um, to be honest, I was really surprised you decided to show up the Sports Festival after all, since I know how you are."

"Excuse me?" (L/n) narrowed her eyes skeptically.

"I mean, not in a mean way or anything!" he clarified. "I just, you don't really do things that require extra effort unless there's a benefit to you. And even though this is a chance to be scouted by Pro heroes, you never really cared for that because you just, let things happen."

Her hands rested on her lap as she tried to understand where he was going with this.

"I've known you since we were kids, so I know you're really easy-going, and can be thoughtful of people too, like how you were always nice to me, even when everyone in elementary hated you for it," he smiled sadly.
