THE DAY AFTER their day off began like usual, with the blue sky clear and gladly letting the sunlight in, along with the beautiful melody of birds singing in the trees nearby.
Bakugou hated it.
"We're super big deals! Those news channels love us, so we're basically celebrities," Kaminari leaned behind his seat.
"Yeah, it's kinda crazy right?" agreed Kirishima.
"Get over yourselves," Jirou advised. "The hero course that pumps out pro heroes every year was attacked, that's what they care about."
They began to relive the brutal expirience, with several of them talking about hypotheticals and things they saw, the most memorable being All Might's fight against that freaky Nomu thing.
"ATTENTION!" Iida loudly declared. "Homeroom class is about to begin! Let's cease these matters and take our seats!"
"Uh, we're all sitting."
"Yeah, you're the only one standing."
Four Eyes shamefully sat in his desk, having the tears of a broken man.
"Wait everyone, before we begin. . ."
Two girls stood at the front of the class behind the podium. Yayorozu put her hands on her chest as she stood next to (L/n), who had her hands clasped in front of her. She stared in front of her, trying not to look at everyone, in the same manner she had on her first day.
Bakugou rolled his eyes.
Yaoyorozu gestured to (L/n). "(L/n) has proposed an excellent idea that we thought we should share with the class." She looked at her. "(L/n), would you do the honors?"
(L/n) clearly didn't want to, just by her hesitation and stiff body language. Did nobody seriously notice her extreme reluctance?
Despite the obvious signs she'd rather not, (L/n) nodded anyways.
"I thought it might be nice to show our appreciation for Aizawa-Sensei while he's in the hospital recovering, and the rest of the t-teachers who, um, who saved us. . ." Slowly, her face was heating up like a kettle.
Damn, (L/n) was pretty weak. She'd only been speaking for a few seconds but already short circuiting like a toaster on the verge of exploding.
Asui raised her hand. "How do you plan on doing that, ribbit?"
"Um, we thought-we thought a banner would," (L/n) cleared her throat. "Be nice. Something creative. We're open to suggestions though, of course. We'd love to hear your thoughts."
The students looked at each other. Bakugou stared at his nails, flipping around a mechanical pencil between his fingers, wondering why (L/n) would want to do something like that. He was certain she wouldn't want to come up with anything or propose things if she didn't have to.
Kirishima rose his arm energetically. "That'd be a great idea!"
Kaminari mirrored his actions. "We'd love to help out!"
Deku smiled, a small blush on his face. "Since (L/n) and Yaoyorozu came up with it, I bet it'll turn out great!"
Several students shouted in agreement, liking the idea of doing something small like that to show how grateful they were. Bakugou didn't say anything, but crossed his arms in thought.
"What about you, Iida?" Uraraka smiled at the class representative.
"I'd have liked if you consoled me first," his pride was clearly damaged. "But nonetheless, I do believe it'd be a nice token of our appreciation towards our homeroom teacher and the U.A faculty."
