The coronation ceremonies for the Kings of the next era was grand. It was a magnificent occasion and every one of the new generation of Gods were present. The first to be crowned was Zeus and the golden wreath that was placed on his head marked the longest day of the year. On this day, it was announced that a summit would be held twice a year to discuss the responsibilities of the deities as well as solve any conflict.
It was Demeter's duty to create the petals for the occasion. From the ground grew large towering Orchards along the aisle. There were roses; both red and white that constantly fell from the sky like rain. The nymphs of the heavens seamed together new gowns for the joyous occasion. Yet Demeter couldn't even adore the emerald silk that coated her body. Something was missing in all this celebration. She thought winning the war would fill the void in her chest, but the emptiness grew.
Hades had been beside her during the festivities like a shadow. He was given robes the colour of coal by Zeus' servants. It was the first time he wore something so dark, he stood out amongst the other deities with their bright robes. Demeter wasn't accustomed to it. Yet she paid no heed. Hades had intended on dressing like the King of the Underworld should. Dark like the black wind under the winter sky. In its own way, it was beauty.
During Poseidon's coronation, they had all stepped onto the waters for the first time. The celebration was held by the coast where the land met the ocean and in the distance was a frozen sunset that were explosions of gentle oranges and pinks in the sky. The waters were up to their ankles. It was cold, salty and most importantly empty. The war had cleared the universe like a beautiful blank canvas. It was time to paint a new world. One that was under the reign of the Olympians.
The following period of time was set on rebuilding the new world of the Olympians. The titan Epimetheus was given the task of creating creatures. They would have the attributes of the Gods. The sea was filled with animals that had the ability to glide through the oceans and the sky which was held by Atlas was filled with birds that were gifted with flight. The barren lands were graced by fruit and vegetation by Demeter. And soon animals scattered across the pastures, where they would graze. The Titan Prometheus was also spared from imprisonment in order to create the first humans. He created them in the image of the Gods, but they remained mortal. It was through their worship of the Gods that the Olympians were able to gather strength.
There wasn't a royal invitation to the Underworld for Hades' coronation. No one had wanted to enter such an eerie place again. Nor did Hades allow Demeter to enter. He had gone alone without telling Demeter. Perhaps it was because of the Helm of Invisibility that Hades was gifted with during the war by the cyclopes, because of it he truly wasn't traceable. He only returned when he pleased and by then, he was already wearing the jet-black robes of a King. The Goddess of Harvest had always remembered the King of the Underworld to be one that spoke little, but smiled no matter what. Now she didn't remember the last time she saw Hades smile. Were the times during the sewers the last?
Finally, the mud field below the mountain, where neither the sea, the sky or the Underworld domain over were split between the three Kings. This was called Earth. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades had equal power. This division in power was to ensure that ultimate dominion was not given to one deity so that another war may never happen again.
After the celebrations, the titans were immediately sent to the Underworld along with the iron gates Zeus had gifted Hades. It was chiselled to express the horrors of the Underworld and what was expected from it. They had to contain the outcasts of the deities. The Hecatonchires were able to carry out punishments on the titans for revenge. Then the Underworld was given the name Hades, for it was he who ruled over the waste land and represented the time after life.
