Hey,

I know it's been awhile 😭 I've been busy with rewriting NSFW for publication, now I have exams so I can't update a lot and my editor is also quite busy. But I do intend to finish this book this year.
I do hope you like this chapter 💚💚 it's a long one to make up for being away, 3000 words ☺️☺️

The hall of the Summit was silent. The five founding Olympians all stood at the centre of an empty field at the highest peak of Mount Olympus. Demeter had kept his male form for a year now, and the other deities had gotten used to this new Demeter. It inspired other Gods and Goddesses to freely chose the form they wanted to take.

The preparation of the grand hall was to begin the following day. The palaces of the Olympians were the first priority. They were yet to begin preparations on building the grand hall to fill the increasing number of deities. More deities had been born or moved in since the last Summit. It was a sign that the reign of the Olympians was becoming more accepted.

But rather than glory, Demeter could only feel anxious. The humans had been given the gift of fire. They had something to give them warmth and were now able to cook for themselves. It was exactly how Prometheus had planned. Even though Demeter felt anxious, he was indifferent.

He knew that there was something he should have felt about what was to come. He couldn't quite pinpoint what it was. Demeter had thought he knew Hades the best. But the God in the black robes seemed to be a different deity to the one he had fought within the war. He was usually well-spoken, but now it was rare to even hear anything from his lips. So, when Hades' speech became verbose, Demeter couldn't help but stare at him in confusion.

"I have a proposition," Hades announced. Demeter didn't quite understand the politics of the newly established monarchs yet. His own role was quite simple: to feed the humans. But it felt as if there was an internal war between the three Kings when it came to authority over the individual realm they governed.

Zeus stepped forward, parading himself, circling Hades as he eyed the other deities. Reminding them who was the King of the Heavens and who wasn't. Demeter didn't know why, but he was trapped in his position, unable to stand beside the King of the Underworld. "Speak, Hades."

Hades' posture had changed, or perhaps it was because Demeter liked to slouch. "The Heavens cannot intervene with the matters of the Underworld." This was a rule that should be established, it was only presented now for formalities.

"And how is that in favour of the Heavens?" Zeus questioned. Demeter could easily translate that into 'How is it beneficial to me?' He didn't know why he couldn't say his thoughts aloud.

"Zeus, the King of the Heavens, may send prisoners to the Underworld," Hades announced. "I have no say against whom you condemn."

Greed was clear in Zeus' eyes, this was something he wanted. This was both in favour and against Hades. Zeus wouldn't be able to control Hades, yet with this added power, there would be a greater fear of Zeus. "Your oath, Hades." The King of the Heavens commanded.

The contract was marked with a kiss left on their lips. The agreement had been made.

Demeter could tell what was to come from how Zeus glanced his way. It was an evil grin that marked across his face. The Goddess' sinking feeling continued to brew in his chest. "Bring Prometheus forward," Zeus ordered.

The crowd of deities cleared and the Heavens' guards dragged the familiar Titan to the centre of the summit. He was thrown in the open space, his hands bound together as well as his feet. His robes were torn. The ethereal blue fluid of the blood of the immortals stained his face. The wounds had already disappeared. The Titan's eyes met Demeter's. What was he pleading with those blue orbs?
