Hello ☺️

When Seokjin returned to the mortal world, he carried his fiery rage along with him. His chest felt like it was about to burn up in a million degrees. He wanted to turn all the fields of the Earth barren so even the humans could share his misery. The glow that coated his skin had slowly disappeared as he had transformed into his human form. The doors to the little cottage were pushed open as he stormed into the cottage, the wind circled around him, his ropes fluttering as he threw his bag on the wooden table. The Goddess leaned on the counter as he buried his face in his hands. "Wretched whore." He screamed profoundly.

In the midst of his fury, the doors suddenly opened. At the entrance was Namjoon who had a pale complexion. He was panting heavily with a sack of potatoes over his shoulders. The human dropped what he was carrying and Seokjin watched as the potatoes rolled towards him. Before Seokjin could process Namjoon's expression, the younger ran towards the Goddess. Seokjin was preparing to be hit as he held his hands up to cover his face. Not that he couldn't protect himself, but he didn't want to hurt this particular human. But instead he felt warm arms around him, Namjoon was welcoming him back with open arms. "Thank the Goddess you're back." He whispered in relief.

This foreign feeling overwhelmed Seokjin in ways he couldn't find words for. And even while he was processing the whole act, Namjoon didn't let go, and the Goddess found himself lulled into this comforting embrace. His anger disappearing from the tips of his fingers, he felt light headed from the rush of peace. Seokjin's hands slowly moved up to reciprocate the embrace. The boy he had taken in had grown up into a young man in the blink of an eye. The Goddess could recognise his distinct features, his dimples as he smiled, his dragon eyes. But he also noticed the differences. Namjoon had gotten taller, he had had a growth spurt and was almost Seokjin's height now.

"How long was I gone for?" Seokjin asked cautiously. Time was different. It was treasured more dearly on Earth. And the Goddess needed to know how much time he had wasted.

"Almost two years." Namjoon mumbled before he let go of the embrace.

"Two years!" Seokjin shrieked. He hadn't expected to be gone for so long, he knew the days between the mortal realm and immortal realm varied but he had never cared because it didn't matter who he returned to. Each human only held a different face, but in root they were the same to him. Humans were a herd that was watched by the Gods.

But if he had been even more careless he could have returned too late. Namjoon could have left the world before he would have arrived and he wouldn't have been able to come back home to anything. Seokjin made a firm decision to avoid visiting the divine realms, he had no business there anymore. His role was to take care of the Earth.

"Yes, I thought you weren't coming back." Namjoon frowned as he looked away briefly. "But you're here." He ran around the cottage, pleased. Seokjin had never seen him dance in pure joy before. "I've been keeping the place tidy. I only broke four vases over the span of the two years. The shop has been doing well. Although not as well as when you were here. The flowers seemed to be beautifully growing in our fields. But they don't bloom as prettily. It must have been your singing and you used to play the harp a lot. Oh, and before I forget, the professor made me his assistant. I help him with his lectures now. I've been living on potatoes because I just kept burning the food-"

"Namjoon." Seokjin laughed. "You're very talkative today."

The human frozen in his tracks and once again there was the beautiful dimpled smile Seokjin had been drawn to the night they first met. His eyes were a little watery, and the Goddess couldn't understand how two different emotions could be shown at the same time. Sadness as well as joy. "Can't you tell... I missed you."
