First POV

With his hand extended out towards me, Lupin looked me in the eyes as he spoke.

"No more waiting. We'll go looking for the answers together. I'm Arséne Lupin, the Gentleman Thief. If I want something, I take it. If you stay here with us, we'll help you and Cardia find the answers you're both looking for."

His kind words from earlier echoed in my head. For the first time in a while, there were people that cared about my wellbeing. I looked him in his golden eyes, they were almost begging me to stay. Maybe, I should stay, or is it that I want to stay? I don't know. But what I do know, is that these people care for both Cardia and I. I slowly walked towards Lupin and put my hand in his as he slowly wrapped his fingers around my hand, embracing it. I looked up to him, hoping that he could see what my answer was. Before I knew it, he smirked and let out a small laugh.

"Don't freeze up on me. It's unbecoming."

Before I could comprehend what he had just said, he pulled me towards him, with one hand still holding mine and the other resting on the small of my back.

"Let's see now, I told you I was going to steal your precious heart, remember. But there's something I didn't say. In return, I promise to grant you one wish," he declared.

I looked up at him, with my cheeks being a little red from his sudden actions.

"A wish?"

He smiled as he stepped away from me a little, spinning around and finally bowing in front of me.

"Yes, indeed you heard me correctly, (Y/N). This humble thief swears to grant your wish and will not stop until the task is done."

A wish for me? I guess it was a subject that I had never thought of.

"No," I started.

Lupin looked up at me with a confused expression.

"This might sound strange, but nothing comes to my mind. To be honest, I've never even thought about something like that. Sorry, Lupin," I apologized, hoping I wouldn't disappoint him.

He instead smiled and put his hands on his hips.

"Right, well, no rush. The offer still stands," he told me.

I smiled slightly, grateful for everyone's kindness. He smiled back at me, but there was some red in his face. It was late, so after all of the commotion, I headed off to my room and fell asleep. It felt good to sleep on a nice, soft bed.

The Next Morning

I was sound asleep in my room, with the blankets all over me. I can be a rough sleeper sometimes, but I stay asleep all night. I didn't even hear the door open when Lupin came to wake me up.

"Rise and shine, darling, breakfast is almost- my my, looks like you slept well," Lupin snickered.

I sat up, yawned, and stretched my arms out, with my back popping in the process. My hair was a little crazy, but nothing a little combing couldn't do. I slowly got out of bed and slipped on my coat, then quickly brushed my hair. Lupin looked up with a smile as I walked over to him.

"I can wake Cardia up, Lupin," I told him.

He shook his head as he followed me to her bedroom door.

"Now what kind of gentleman would I be if I didn't help our dear guests in the morning," he told me as he opened Cardia's door.

"Hope you're hungry, because breakfast is- well, would you look at that."
