First POV

When I heard those words leave Saint's lips, I was shocked. But, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Any normal person would want someone like me gone. I mean, I only brought fear and suffering among everyone. I stayed quiet and continued to listen to Saint as he continued.

"Since the beginning of time, there has been a clandestine organization that oversees all of human history. It's called Idea. Throughout time, their job has been to correct any errors, and guide mankind to the correct destiny," he began to explain.

I stopped and thought for a moment. I guess, that made sense in some way. But, it was definitely more complex than what regular people could comprehend.

"The correct destiny?" I asked, not knowing exactly what Saint meant.

He still faced me, his opened eyes were now closed again. I had to say, it shook me a little when he opened them for the first time since I had met him, but his eyes to be very beautiful. He continued on, answering my question.

"Humans are weak. As such, they make mistakes, and that's why Idea exists. To set those mistakes right, no matter the cost. The reality is this, they believe you are one of those mistakes, (Y/N)," he told me.

I don't even know why that didn't faze me. I guess, Saint was right when he said that. Father had killed and recreated me, something that should've never been possible in the human world.

"They want to eliminate you. The cursed children of Issac Beckford, the keys to the activation of Code Realize. The existence of you and your siblings will bring on disasters to which have never been seen. I'm sorry, but this can't be ignored," Saint apologized as he began walking towards me.

Now I understood, I understood now why he was sent to do this. Most people would be scared in that case, but I didn't feel fear in that moment. I guess it was something I was kind of used to. Who would want a monster around them anyway?

"So that's why... that's why you've come to kill Cardia and I," I said to the man as he stopped a couple of feet away from me.

Once he stopped where he was, I saw Saint reach into his pocket before holding his hand out to me.

"Here, drink this. It will ensure yours and Cardia's is a peaceful death," Saint told me as he held out a small bottle.

It had a dark purple liquid in it, poison, I'm assuming. I looked from the bottle back up to Saint, to see him glaring a little bit.

"Issac's insidious plan must be stopped at all costs," he stated once more.

He was right. Father needed to be stopped, no matter what. My mind flashed back to Finis, all of the things that he said, about the destruction and death that I would cause. About how people will die because of me. I was the Horologium, and I needed to put an end to it. Without hesitating, I reached out to grab the bottle from Saint, but I saw him pull back quickly while taking a few steps away from me.

"(Y/N), you mustn't," he told me while shaking his head.

I let out a smile as Saint locked his gaze onto me, unaware of my real intentions.

"I'm not going to use it. It just has to look like I took it from you, right? Cardia doesn't even have to know about it," I smiled as I took the small bottle from the noble.

I knew Saint could never bring himself to hurt Cardia or myself, but I didn't want him to get in trouble with the organization that he worked for.

"I'll be fine. Thank you for worrying as much as you do, Saint," I thanked him.
