Impey's Ending

First POV

Impey Barbicane, the genius engineer that had the goofiest personality on this planet, one of the many things that I loved about him. The way he became serious whenever the time was right was something I found attractive about him as well.

I turned around, and saw Impey standing there with a smile on his face. I had to smile back as my cheeks turned a little pink. I know that he had also flirted with me in the past, so now, it was my turn.

"Is that offer to be your girlfriend still up?" I asked him while placing a hand onto my hip.

I had remembered back in St. Paul's when he had said that he'd ask me to be his girlfriend once this was all over. That question seem to have caught Impey off guard for a moment. He stiffened up a little as his cheeks became as red as his hair.

"W-Wait, you're serious?!" He asked loudly, causing me to laugh.

Once I nodded, giving him confirmation that I was serious, Impey ran over to me in a quick movement, and took me into his arms, causing us to spin around in the process.

"Alright! I finally got the girl of my dreams!" He yelled as he stopped spinning.

I continued to smile as I wrapped my arms around his neck, snuggling into the engineer's shoulder a little bit. He did the same as I felt his breath tickle my shoulder a little bit. After a couple of seconds, we pulled away from each other, and looked into each other's eyes.

"I love you, (Y/N) / Impey," we both said at the same time.

Once those words left our lips, Impey and I looked at each other for a moment before laughing a little bit. I absolutely loved Impey, and just everything about him. After we calmed down from our laughter,Impey took my hand and we began to run towards the mansion once again.

I had no idea what he was doing, but I was a little confused when we came to the automobile. Impey let go of my hand as he helped me into the passenger side of the vehicle.

"Sorry, but I want to show you something, and I don't have much time before it happens," he informed me as we pulled out of the mansion and began driving off. 

I had no idea what he meant, and telling by the direction that we were driving in, we'd make it to the destination when it was night fall. I watched the scenery as the sun began to set, and it was soon dark outside.

Impey had finally stopped the automobile in front of a meadow, just as the moon began to rise up into the sky. The red head helped me out of the vehicle, and we began walking hand in hand out into the middle of the field, and took a seat in middle of it, right in front of the moon.

"Here, this is the first part of what I want to show you," he said as he pulled out something from his pocket.

As I got a look at it, I saw that it was a ring. Impey then took my hand, and placed the piece of jewelry onto my ring finger. It was beautiful, since I noticed that it was handmade by Impey, himself. It made me smile, but then, I noticed that there was a circular piece of metal on the top of the ring, where you would place a jewel.

"What's this part for, Impey?" I asked, referring to the odd piece of metal on the ring.

Impey smirked before taking my small hand into his bigger one, and then pulling me towards him.

"Here, just raise your hand up like this, and now.... Perfect!" He said in victory as I kept my hand where he had positioned it.

I was now sitting even closer to Impey, and then, I realized why there was that random piece of metal on the ring. When I got a better look at what Impey was looking at, I noticed that the moon got perfectly within the lines of the moon. I literally had the moon on my fingertip.

"Impey, I love that," I told him as I felt his arms embrace me in a back hug.

I kept looking at my moon ring, feeling Impey smile from my shoulder, and then, I felt his arms get a little tighter. I looked back at him, and saw a soft smile on his face.

"That's how much I love you, (Y/N). I love you to the moon and back," he said to me once again.

I smiled at him, knowing fully well that he felt that way. And I felt the same way as well. I turned towards him a little more, looking into his yellow eyes, the moon shining on us both.

"I love you to the moon and back too, Impey," I confessed to him.

He smiled even more, and that's when I saw him beginning to lean towards me. I leaned in as well, then, we kissed under the moonlight. Soft and loving, just like Impey himself.

When we pulled apart, Impey and I laughed at little before embracing each other once more, and just staying like that. This is where our journey begins. It would be our future, to the moon, together.
