First POV

"You want me to rebuild an air ship? I think I can probably handle that," Impey said to Saint after he set his cup of tea down.

Saint had come back home with some information that would help us move forward with our plan. We were all sitting around the table as he gave a satisfied smile to Impey.

"I'm glad to hear it. The Black Gathering is coming up soon. I'd like you to enter and win it," Saint proclaimed.

I had never heard of an event like that, and neither did Cardia. But I could tell that the pressure was starting to build up on Impey.

"Come on! You gotta be kidding me, right?!" Impey yelled after Saint told him.

"I've never heard of that before," I heard Cardia say after.

I couldn't give an answer to that this time, since I had no idea about what a 'Black Gathering' was. Lupin was able to catch onto our confusion right away, so he explained further as to why this all depended on Impey.

"Well, that's not surprising. The mafia puts it on. It's a semi-annual air ship race."

My eyes went wide when I realized why Impey was an important part in this. He was the pilot of the group, so it would make sense as to why he'd be the one of importance in this.

"This year, the grand prize is of particular interest. The winner gets the unpublished writings of Issac Beckford," Saint told us.

I sat up a little straighter when he mentioned Father. We were all a little shocked to here that that was the prize.

"Father's writings, huh?" I say quietly.

"You don't get a chance to see writings like that very often. If we win, we might find some useful clues," Fran added on.

With that information now on the table, that made me want to enter the race. But, I had heard things about the mafia, not good things, so that made me a little uneasy. But, this could be a good opportunity, and the others seemed to think so as well.

"Indeed. If we're lucky, those writing will point us directly to Issac's laboratory. Given that, I think it's well worth our time," Saint voiced.

While I think that this would be a wonderful idea for moving forward, there was one little manner that we still had to deal with.

"I agree the papers are key, but there's gotta be another way," Van said as he looked to us with his arms crossed.

By that, he meant he didn't want Cardia and I to be revealed as Issac Beckford's daughters, but also, we were missing a key element. Lupin jumped right on the case to go about this a different way.

"Perhaps I could be of service," he smirked.

"Perhaps," Saint began as Lupin looked to him.

I knew what he was thinking. With Lupin being an exceptional thief, I guess he would be able to steal the papers somehow. Though, Saint was about to reveal a little twist to this.

"You'll have to best Herlock Sholmès. From what I've gathered, he's guarding the grand prize," Saint told Lupin.

Once I heard that name, my mind immediately went to the train incident that had occurred last week. The lavender haired detective had stopped Lupin, Cardia, and I, and revealed that he was Lupin's mortal enemy. He was quite charming, but bad news for sure. I saw Lupin's face contort with irritation and annoyance at the mention of the detective's name. But I think that only motivated him even more for us to enter.

"Alright, we shall enter the race!" Lupin announced as he stood up from his seat.

"You sure changed your mind pretty fast," Impey said right after with shock.
