First POV

Abraham Van Helsing, the stoic gunman that was a treasure that needed the right key in order for him to open up. The one whose kindness came in warm packages. That was something that I loved about him. And I guess, I had fallen for him when I first met him all those years ago.

I looked back to Van as he stood there with his usual expression on his face, but I was smiling. Though, I wasn't sure if he felt the same way. I walked over to Van, who walked towards me as well. We stood inches apart, but then, I saw him give me a soft smile.

And what surprised me even more, was when Van placed his hand on my cheek, caressing it gently. I smiled, and leaned into his hand, placing mine on top of his. It was so warm, and I loved it.

"I want to take you somewhere tonight. You can wear your dark fae dress, and I want to tell you something," he softly instructed.

I looked into his dark purple eyes, and nodded. After that, I linked arms with Van as we walked back to the mansion.

But then, my nerves were starting to act up a little bit, because Van was a person that was very hard to read. But then again, he wouldn't have smiled if he was going to tell me something bad.

I had told Cardia what had happened between the two of us, and how I did love him, but I wasn't sure how he felt. She laughed a little bit before she spoke.

"I think he feels the same way. Plus, I think you're the only person who can get him to smile like that," she said, earning a chuckle from me.

"I guess I'm just nervous. Because ever since I knew it was him, my heart just can't stop beating this fast," I admitted.

It was true, ever since this morning, my heart rate had only elevated, and it was as if God had wanted this moment in time to come quickly. The day flew by. With Cardia helping me fix my hair a little bit, I began to make my way downstairs.

When I made my way to the top of the stairs, I caught sight of Van standing at the bottom, in a nice suit with his hair slicked back a little bit. I felt my cheeks get hot as he looked up to me, and his cheeks turned a little pink as well.

"Now I feel like I didn't dress up enough," I said sheepishly.

But he was quick to say other wise.

"No, you look good. Now, come on. Let's get going," he said as he held his hand out to me.

I didn't say anymore and walked down the stairs, and grabbed his hand. Even though he was wearing gloves, I felt his warmth through the cloth.

Van helped me into the automobile, and we began to drive off. The car ride was silent, but he stopped by Buckingham Palace. If my memory serves me right, the Queen was hosting a gala tonight, but why were we parked back here?

It wasn't until Van began helping me onto different parts of the building that I realized what was going on.

"Van, won't we get in trouble?" I asked as I grabbed his hand.

He smiled as he pulled me onto the roof.

"Even if we do, we can just fly off," he said, referring to my wings.

I laughed a little as we walked towards the front of the palace roof. I still didn't really understand why he had brought me here. But once I saw the sight of the city in the distance, I soon understood. The lights were illuminating the night, and it looked like millions of jewels scattered all over the place.

"Oh, wow... it's beautiful," I managed to say in awe.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Van smiling at me before saying the same. But he wasn't looking at the sight. I blushed a little bit as he took my hand, and led me to the middle of the roof, where there was a window opened. And I could hear the faint sound of classical music playing.

"May I have this dance?" He asked me.

I smiled a little bit and nodded. However, I didn't know the first thing about dancing, so I told Van he would have to lead. With a nod, Van placed his hand on my waist as I did the same on his shoulder. And we began to dance.

Turns out, dancing wasn't as hard as I'd thought it'd be. We danced in silence for a few minutes, just gazing into each other's eyes, and smiling. Finally, I spoke, breaking the silence.

"What did you want to tell me?" I asked, curious as to what he meant.

Van seemed to have realized what he said earlier, but we continued to dance as he looked off to the side a little bit.

"Well, it's unlike me to do this, but, close your eyes for a moment. And listen carefully," he told me.

My eyes went a little wide for a moment, but I did as he instructed. And when I did, I felt Van place a soft, tender kiss onto my lips. It seems my worries were all for nothing. I felt myself smiling into the kiss. And when we pulled apart, I felt Van pulled me in a little more as he whispered something into my ear.

"I love you."

I smiled even bigger as I pulled away, stopping our dance for a moment, and looked into his eyes.

"I love you too," I confessed back.

Van seemed a little taken back when I said those words, but he was able to compose himself once again. We stood there for a few moments in silence, and then, Van placed his hand on my cheek once more, leaning down to give me another kiss.

"Well then, let me take the moment to tell you, that I think you are more valuable than any jewel. You're my treasure, and you've always been my goal. It almost feels like a dream to be with you like this once again, (Y/N)," he spoke.

My cheeks turned a little pink as I remembered the time of when we first met, up until now. I placed my hand on his cheek and smiled up to him.

"You took the words right out of my mouth, Van Helsing."

And with that, we began our new future, with another love filled dance. Our new dream, our new goal. To spend the rest of our lives just like this.
