Third POV
Even with all of the chaos occurring in the city, the men were more concerned about one matter. Van, Impey, Fran, and Saint had been searching high and low all over the city for the missing elder Beckford daughter. And their worries hadn't gone down since the first day that they realized that she was missing. They knew Lupin and Cardia had gone to Wales to go after her, if she was there, but the others couldn't stand the thought of just sitting around.
"Van! Saint!" Fran shouted to them as he and Impey ran up to them.
The four of them had split into two groups to search the entire city, and their meeting place was a bridge in the city. Once Fran and Impey got to the center of the bridge to see if the other two had found any sign of (Y/N), they were met with Saint shaking his head.
"She's nowhere to be found," the noble informed them.
Impey clenched his fists as he looked down with a glare. It wasn't that he was mad at anyone, but he was beyond worry for the young woman.
"Dammit! Where could she be? It's been three days since she's disappeared," Impey said as he kept his head down.
Fran looked over to Impey, knowing that he was just as worried as the alchemist was. But there was still hope that Lupin and Cardia had more luck than they had in the city.
"Do you really think she went to Wales? If she did, maybe Lupin and Cardia have already found her," Fran told the group.
He wanted to ease the tension of the group, but Van still had to keep them prepared for the worst. With his arms crossed as usual, the gunman closed his eyes and looked to the ground before speaking.
"Even if that's true, we have no way of telling when they'll make their way back here," he stated.
That wasn't exactly the answer that they wanted to hear. It seemed as if they began to lose hope, even though that was far from the case. Impey clenched his fists even tighter than before, he had been keeping his emotions in, but he wanted to let everyone know how he felt.
"She's an angel... My angel! If someone's hurt her, then there'll be hell to pay!" The red headed engineer yelled to them.
"Impey..." Fran trailed off, somewhat surprised by Impey's outburst.
The others had given him their full attention as well. Being as that when Impey yelled, it had to mean something.
"(Y/N)'s the best thing in my life. Don't you all feel the same way?" Impey asked them as he looked to Fran.
That had been an obvious answer for everyone. Fran smiled back to Impey before agreeing with him.
"Of course we do. Don't we, Van," Fran smiled as he looked to the blonde man.
Van didn't answer, but he too felt the same way. He wasn't one to show his worry, but (Y/N) was the one person that made his heart beat quicken with a bit of anxiety whenever he didn't know her whereabouts. Saint smiled as well, agreeing with the engineer along with Fran. He had an idea, and was ready to share it with everyone.
"We should split up and keep searching for her. I'll do another sweep of the upper city," Saint said as he ran off to the other side of the bridge.
With Van, Impey, and Fran left behind, they decided to choose the next area where they would search.
"Impey, do you still have the map?" Fran asked.
"Right here."
As Impey pulled out the piece of parchment, they could all hear something falling from the sky. Before anyone could even comprehend what the noise was, the sound of an explosion roared into the air as smoke and a fire began to form on one side of the bridge. That caused the people to scatter as screams of terror filled the city.
