"Never had much of a liking for rules. Unfortunately, he's still the Keeper for the Builders." Alby adds.
"Have fun the day you have to try out that job," Newt says, his voice dry. "He already dislikes you, and if you haven't noticed, he isn't afraid to let that out. Maybe I'll have Jack show you around."
"Jack?" you ask.
Newt shifts in your direction, first glancing at you before his eyes dart to another table as he nods his head in the same direction. "See that kid over there with the black hair? Kinda tall? Blue shirt?"
"Yeah," you reply, looking away. You don't want to be caught staring. "Will I be with the Builders tomorrow, then?"
"Nah. You'll be with the Track-hoes," Newt corrects, shaking his head. "I'm goin' to try to give Gally here some time to try to get used to a little change if I can."
"Gardening?" you ask. You think he had said something about that on the tour.
"Have fun pulling up weeds," Alby mutters.
The lunch bell rings once again, and for you, that means back to the Bloodhouse. You stand up, resisting the urge to do so slowly and stall for as long as possible.
"More fun that this," you say, turning to go. You hope the rest of the workday isn't long, because you can't stand much more time in those dark, smelly stalls.
