"Winston, you go first," Alby says.
"Um, I think she was good," Winston begins, looking at you uncertainly. "But probably not the best fit for being a Slicer."
"Good that. Next," Newt says, jotting down notes on a sketch pad.
In a way, you feel relieved. You had hated being a Slicer even more than being a Slopper, and even then you had detested cleaning the bathroom.
"She was good working in the gardens," Zart says, snapping you out of your thoughts. "Worked hard and steady, never complained. I'd be happy to have her."
They go in turns, evaluating you. Frypan wanted you, which sparked a bit of hope inside you. Being a Cook was your second most wanted job. Mike, the Keeper of the Sloppers wanted you, but the Sloppers were only for those who didn't do well at any of the jobs, so there wasn't much to note there.
"I'd like her to join us," said the Keeper of the Bricknicks. "But I'd like her with the Builders so we won't have to repair so much."
He punched Gally in the arm as the rest laughed. Even Newt was hiding a small smile.
"What do you think of y/n joining the Builders, Gally," Alby says once the noise dies down.
He sighs, shifting in his seat and folding his arms. He gives you a small glare. He's never liked you, but at least he keeps it to himself for the most part. "I don't care. She was okay at the job. If she wants to be one, fine. If she doesn't, good with me."
"Good that." He nods to Gally, silently thanking him. You can't help but be relieved, too. You had expected him to put up a fight about it or give you a terrible report. "Minho, what do you think about her being a Runner?"
All eyes turn to Minho and the room buzzes with a silent, shocked energy. You know that it isn't usual, but you hadn't been expecting this.Gally's eyes go wide and flare with anger.
