Chapter 20

Betty POV:

"I'll be back baby, I'm going to the restroom" Jughead says to me, giving me a kiss on the forehead. I smile as he gets up and walks over to the restroom. 

I turn to look at my dad and Polly who are in conversation "So ? What do you think?" I ask nervously. 

"Does he make you happy?" My dad asks 

"Of course dad, I love him" I tell him 

"Then I like him, All I want is for you to be happy. I don't care about his background or where he comes from I just want him to treat like the princess that you are and as long as he does that then we'll be on good terms. Also from the way he speaks about you, I know that his love for you is real." He tells me, He grabs my hand and squeezes it but I wince a bit in a pain.

He furrows his eyebrows and looks at me "What's wrong?" He asks 

"Nothing, dad" I say to him giving him a tight smile. 

"Betty, tell me" He says nervously

"I pull up my sleeve and I show him the cuts my mom inflicted on me last night. 

"I'm going to fucking kill her!" He says quickly standing up.

"Dad please, no" I beg to him as I stand up as well. 

"I'm going back to see a lawyer and fight for custody. I can't let you live with that woman any longer " He says to me but before I could say anything Jughead walks out of the bathroom and walks past me, noticing something off. 

"Jug?" I question him 

"Not now Betty" He says as he walks towards the exit. I run after him and force him to turn around and look at me. 

"Jug, please tell me what's wrong baby" I plead to him 

"My dad was just arrested Betty" He says through tears. 

"Oh my god, Jug well let me go with you" I say to him. 

Narrator POV:

And this was the moment that things took a turn for the worst, Jughead drove as fast as he could down to the police station, with Betty gripping him tightly. 

For the first time Jughead was afraid, from what he heard on the phone things weren't looking too good for his dad and he instantly begins to blame himself, he should have been there. Only if he was there then none of this would have happened but instead he had to go and meet his girlfriends dad. 

Once they got there Jughead didn't even wait for Betty and simply ran inside to meet with his dad's lawyer,  who so happened to be a woman he slept with before. 

"Trula, tell me. How is it looking?" Jughead asks 

"I'm not going to lie to you Jones, it isn't looking too good but your dad swears that he didn't know where those drugs or guns came from but unfortunately his track record and his name isn't helping" She says to him, Betty soon gets there and stands besides Jughead and tries to hold onto his hand but Jughead was blinded by rage that he quickly pulled it away from her. Betty looked down and tried her best to not make a scene especially now that he needed he, she understood and would never make this terrible situation about her so instead she just listened to the woman and mentally took notes about everything.
