Lost in Temptation

Chapter 24

Narrator POV:

Within the next hour, Jughead sat there just thinking about ways he could use to show Betty just how much he loves her, though he was lost in thought, he couldn't help but notice that none of her friends have come by. He knows they have school but he's absolutely certain that they would have dropped everything once they heard that Betty had woken up but he figured maybe she didn't want them here or asked not to call them yet. He debated calling them, himself but he didn't want to upset Betty if she wanted them here then she would ask her dad but he knows of one person that she would want to see and though it killed him, he decided to call. 

While Jughead was on the phone, Betty was talking to her dad regarding everything. She found out that he now has custody of her and that her mother is facing jail time for what she did to her. She also asked her father not to call Toni or Kevin since she didn't have the strength to face them especially not Toni. Betty knew, she knew that Toni had seen first hand what Jughead was doing and yet she kept it to herself. The only one who ever bothered to be there for her was the one person she'd least expect, Veronica. 

Betty's thoughts were soon interrupted when her door was busted open by an older lady walking in with some kind of machine that made Betty curious as to what it is. It wasn't until the lady told her that she was an ultrasound tech and she was there to show Betty her baby. Betty felt over the moon and was excited but nervous at the same time. Her baby was growing inside of her and she didn't even know it. 

Once the lady finished setting up, she asked for Hal to leave and once he did, she began. 

Once the picture of her and Jughead's baby was on the screen, Betty couldn't hold her tears so she let them flow down. Her heart leaped in joy as she seen the tiny little thing that was growing inside of her but nothing compared to when she heard the heartbeat. 

"Is the father here? Would you like me to go and get him for you?" The lady asked and Betty quickly looked over at and smiled tightly at her "Uhh, the father isn't involved. it's just me and my little bean" She responds. 

"I see." the lady replies giving her a sympathetic smile, but Betty knows she wasn't judging her. "I know you can do this dear. I can see and hear that this little baby is just as strong as you" She tells her. 

"Thank you" Betty says with a smile. 

"Would you like a picture?" The tech asks. Betty's eyes sparkle and nods eagerly. The lady chuckles and quickly prints out several pictures for Betty and hands them over to her. Betty grabs them and instantly places a kiss on it and runs her finger over it, she never thought that this would happen but she's glad it is and though she wants nothing to do with Jughead, she's thankful that it's his. 

The lady wrapped up and said her goodbyes and gave Betty her best before walking out and once she did, both her father and sister rushed inside. 

"So? How'd it go?" Polly asked eagerly, her hands placed together in front of her. Betty laughs at how excited they are but she's thankful for them, she always knew and loved how Hal and Polly always supported her through everything which is why she was relieved to find out that she'd be leaving with them and not back with her mother. 

"Well" Betty starts then holds up the photos up to their view. Hal quickly grabs them out of her hands and stares at them in awe but he hardly got to look at them for more than a minute before Polly yanked them out of his grasp. "Hey, I wasn't done" He tells his daughter.
