Lost in Temptation

Chapter 12

Betty POV:

I slowly walked down the corridor, gripping the straps of my backpack tightly as I tried my best to ignore the horrible glares I was receiving from everyone. I stopped instantly to find Jughead talking to none other than Cheryl Blossom, my so called cousin who has been nothing but a bully to me. I waited there and smiled at Jughead when he turned to look at me then soon after he walked over to me placing his arm around my shoulders looking down at me with a smile kissing my temple but curiosity was hitting me like crazy. 

"Why were you talking to Cheryl?" I ask him as I look up at him biting my lip waiting anxiously for his reply. He cleared his throat and suddenly stopped walking making me stop as well and looked down at me. 

"She just asked me a question" He said to me as if it were no big deal. 

"Listen Jug, I'm not that type of girl to tell you who to talk to and who not too but Cheryl has been nothing but cruel to me, always bullying me relentlessly so I'm telling you this now, I don't want you talking to her" I said to him, hoping he doesn't take it in a bad way or think I'm trying to be controlling.

"Whoa! easy there Betts, me and Cheryl aren't friends so you don't have to warn me or anything" He tells me as he places his hands on my shoulders looking straight into my eyes. 

I simple shook my head letting him know that I understood and continued walking, his hand intertwined with mine. 

We soon walked into the cafeteria and once again all eyes were on us, I guess I have to get used to this. We walked hand in hand down the cafeteria and sat down in an empty table where Toni, Kevin, Sweet Pea and Fangs soon joined us. 

"You okay B?" Toni asks me with a smile. 

"Yeah I'm good" I reply giving her the same smile she's giving me. I mean I'm not lying, Yeah everyone is whispering behind my back and giving me dirty looks but for some reason it isn't getting to me. I look over at Jughead whose talking to his friends and I just smile wider knowing that for the first time in a long time I was put first. He choose me. 

"You want something to eat babe?" He asks me as he stands up from the table along with Sweet Pea and Fangs. 

"Nah I'm good. I have an apple in my backpack" I reply as I look up at him 

"You sure? I can get you something from the vending machines or make line to grab you a lunch" He asks again

"I'm fine Juggie seriously" I tell him.

"Okay then. I'll be right back" He says bending down, placing a kiss on the top of my head making my heart flutter. I simply nod and watch him as he goes to grab something to eat.

"I wanted to apologize to you Betty" I hear Toni say to me making me snap my head towards her,  I furrow my eyebrows together and look at her with confusion waiting for her to continue and wondering what she's apologizing for. 

"For what exactly?" I ask her

"For trying to convince you to end things with Jughead" she says "it's just I'm not used to him being this nice and caring towards someone let alone a girl. I mean he's known to be a fuckboy but I do have to admit after hearing people say how he stood up for you and that he even threatened Veronica for you made me give him the benefit of the doubt" She tells me but then looks at me with fire in her eyes "But if he ever dares to hurt you in anyway I will not hesitate to chop his manhood off" She tells me making me and Kevin laugh.
