Lost in Temptation

Chapter 17

Betty POV:

Once I got home I went straight upstairs to begin getting ready. Never in a million years did I ever think that Jughead and I would ever be an item but now I'm his girlfriend about to get ready to go out on a date with him. I can literally feel the butterflies fluttering inside of my stomach, I really wanted Toni to help me get ready but after seeing her today with Cheryl caught me off guard and feel like I need to give her her space. I'm not angry not in the least, Toni can date who she wants and I accept it but I don't understand why she felt the need to keep it from me when all I've ever done is support her. 

I go through my closet countless of times and give up after I find nothing to wear, I sit on my bed and put my head in my hands wondering what the hell I'm going to do when there's a knock on my door making me snap up my head and furrow my eyebrows when I see Veronica standing there. 

"Yeah?" I ask her in confusion. She gives me a small smile as she slowly walks in, I'm guessing because she thinks I'm going to kick her out or something. 

"What are you so upset about?" She asks me 

"I'm not upset, I just can't find something to wear" I say to her making her nod her head in understanding, she glances over to my closet then back to me with a risen eyebrow "You going out with Jughead?" She asks me

I bite my lip unsure of whether or not to answer her question, I stay quite and I look to the side, she starts to giggle a bit bringing my attention back to her and give her a narrowed look with my eyes. "I'm sorry but wow Betty you really do mean a lot to him" she says to me. 

"And why would you say that?" I ask her with interest

"Well because when I was his girlfriend he would never take me out, like ever much less on a formal date" She tells me with a sparkle in her eyes. 

"You aren't upset about that?" I ask her 

"Why would I be? Me and Jughead weren't your typical couple. I'm just hoping he doesn't break your heart because Betty you really are amazing and you deserve to be cherish and I'm actually glad that he's trying with you" She says to me with a genuine smile then walks out without saying another word. I continue to sit down on my bed and think about what to wear when Veronica comes back inside with a small smile and a simple black dress in hand. She places it on my bed and looks over at me.

"What's this?" I ask her

"This is your outfit for tonight, it's simple and sexy and it's brand new. I haven't wore it but I think it'll look better on you" She says to me then looks over at my vanity, she walks over and looks in my jewelry box pulling out some gold earrings and a bracelet that my dad gave me right before he left. She sets them on top of the vanity and pats the seat that's placed in front of it, gesturing for me to sit on it. I hesitate at first but ultimately I give in and walk over, sitting down in front of her as she begins to do my hair and my make up. I smile internally and thank her mentally, she doesn't have to do this to me not after I took her boyfriend and yet she's standing here helping me get ready for a date. 

Jughead POV:

I smile as I get out of the shower and walk into my bedroom and sit down on my bed looking at the time, I have an hour left until I have to pick up Betty for our date. I have never done this before so I won't deny that I'm nervous that she won't like or enjoy what I have planned. I meant what I told Betty earlier, she means way too much to me and she deserves to be taken out rather than me just giving her a good lay. She deserves the world and if I can give it to her then I will stop at nothing to do so. 

I get up and walk over to my closet pulling out some dress pants that I had bought for my mom's wedding earlier this year and a dress shirt. I set them on the bed and begin getting ready. I begin to put my clothes on when there's a knock on my door, I yell out that it's open and in walks my dad with a smile. 

"Well you clean up good don't you?" He asks me with a chuckle. I grin over at him and nod my head as I button up my shirt and slick my hair back. 

"Here" He says to me, holding out some cash and red roses. 

"It's alright dad, I got cash on me and I was planning on stopping at the flower shop and pick up some lilies." I tell him

He raises his eyebrows and looks at me waiting for some kind of explanation "Lilies are her favorite and well I have cash saved up from working'" I tell him with a shrug. I sit on my bed as I put on my shoes and I can feel his eyes on me. 

"What?" I ask him with a slight chuckle. 

"She means a lot more to you than I thought" He says to me as he leans onto my dresser. 

"Yeah she does dad, I'm serious about her." I reply to him. 

"Well when do I get to meet? If she means this much to you then I would like to properly introduce myself to her" He says to me "I also know she spent most of the week here meaning you want her around a lot something you never do" He says to me

"Yeah dad I told you already, I like her like a lot. I have feelings for her, Betty makes me feel things that no other girl has ever made me feel. I mean she makes me want to take her out on dates, I look forward to school now because I get to hold her hand while we walk down the halls, she choose me dad. Me." I say to him with a smile as I stand up, he walks over to me and pats my shoulder with a smile. 

"Oh boy you got it bad, don't you?" He asks me

"Yeah I do" I say to him. I feel him slipping something into my pocket then walks out without saying another word. I take my hand and put it inside of my pocket and reach for what he left, I pull it out and see that he gave me cash even though I told him not too and a condom, I laugh and put on my jacket and walk out, driving out to the floral shop first to pick up her flowers then heading towards Betty's. If I thought I was nervous earlier than nothing beats how nervous I'm feeling now.

I park the truck, grabbing the flowers from the passenger side and let out a sigh as I look over to the house. I muster up the courage and get out of the truck. I feel my hands begin to sweat as I walk over to the house. 

Once I get to the door, I close my eyes and brace myself for what's to come. I smile and knock on the door and before I know it the door opens and I'm hit with a vision of pure beauty. 

"Wow" I say under my breath as I let out a breath as I look at Betty, she smiles at me and blushes. "These are for you" I tell her, handing her the lilies. 

"Oh my god, Jug!" She squeals. "These are beautiful" She says to me placing a kiss on my lips with a smile. 

"Not as beautiful as you thought" I tell her making her blush even more. 

"You remembered" She mumbles as she admires the flowers. 

"Of course I remember, I remember everything you told me" I say to her, I hand her my arm for her to grab and we head out. 

"So where are we going?" She asks me with a smile as she gets into the truck. 

"Ah that m'lady is a surprise" I tell her, making her pout, I lean in and give her pout a kiss and smile at her "You're cute" I say to her, closing the door for her and walking around the truck and getting into the drivers side and quickly drive over to our destination.
