Lost in Temptation

Chapter 14

Narrator POV:

Betty always hated that she was so weak, no matter how much she tried to restrain the tears from falling from her eyes, they still managed to escape and she hated it. The truth is deep down she knew that Jughead wasn't her's when he did what he did but it still hurts her to know that she wasn't the only girl he was looking for at the time. 

She looked over at Toni and Veronica and furrowed her eyebrows wondering why those two are even together in the first place but when Toni blurted out that they needed to tell her something regarding Jughead then it made sense. She looked back over at Jughead, who was trying to talk to her and convince her to leave with him so they can talk in private while Toni and Veronica kept nagging her about needing to tell her about something. 

"EVERYONE SHUT UP!" Betty shouted from the top of her lungs, wiping the salty tears off her face and put on a brave face. 

"Now I need you two to give me some privacy so I can speak to my boyfriend" Betty said to the two girls who were standing over at her right side, in shock. 

"But Betty please" Toni began but Betty put up her hands and shook them eagerly for her so Toni could stop and she did. 

"Please Toni" Betty begged. 

Toni simply nodded and began walking away but Veronica just stood there surprisingly looking concerned but Toni walked back and dragged her away giving the new pair the privacy Betty asked for. 

Once Betty knew they were alone, she looked over at her boyfriend who looked worried and scared but she wouldn't give in not until she has the full story and also ask him if he knew what Toni and Veronica needed to tell her.

"Well are you going to talk or are you going to just stand there looking like a lost puppy?" Betty asked him, anger clearly heard in her voice. Jughead knew that she was upset but there isn't nothing to hide. He's literally told her everything when they spent those precious and perfect three days together in his trailer. 

"Betty" He started, letting out a heavy and closed his eyes tightly almost as if he's afraid to talk. The last thing Jughead wants to do is hurt Betty, he doesn't want to lose her, not this quickly. She means way too much to him. 

"Those hickeys were made by Veronica, you can ask her. We just didn't have sex." He states "She was pissed because I wouldn't sleep with her so I had to give her something. It sounds stupid I know but I swear to you that I didn't look for another girl while I was seeking you. And if you don't believe me then you can ask her yourself, I have nothing to hide" He says to her. 

"I'm going to ask her, It's not that I don't trust you but I have to hear it from her as well" Betty says hoping she doesn't upset him. He simply nods as he looks down.

"Do you know what they need to tell me?" She asks him 

"Probably to tell you that I slept with Cheryl" He says as he runs his hands through his hair in frustration. 

"Okay? But you already told me that. Did you do it again after that time you told me?" She asks him with worry. 

"No. It was only that one time, two months ago that we did it. I was drunk and upset and she was there but I swear that was the only time we did it." He says. Betty nods her head and gives him a tight smile and begins to walk away making Jughead's heart drop. Is she ending things with him? 

"you're not breaking up with me are you?" He asks her making her look back at him with furrowed eyebrows. 

"When did I say I was?" She asks him 

"It's just I'm constantly fucking up with and I know I don't deserve you but I can't help but to worry that one day you'll realize that you deserve so much better than me. I have a lot of baggage" He says to her

"The only reason you think you're fucking up is because people are constantly attacking us. You sleeping with other girls before me isn't an issue for me so stop making it one. I already told you as long as you don;t do it while we're together then we'll be fine" She says giving him another tight smile and walks away from him not saying another word. He knew that people would be against them but he didn't care, he wasn't about to give up . He'd fight for Betty and their relationship, not caring against who. 

Betty walks down the hallway, looking for Toni but she doesn't seem to be able to find her and instead finds Kevin in the student lounge reading a book on the last 5 minutes of lunch. 

"Hey B" He says as he looks up from his book. Betty gives him a sincere smile and sits down beside him placing her head on his shoulder. Kevin quickly puts down his book and places it inside of his bag and pulls Betty into a hug, knowing something was wrong with one of his favorite girls. 

"What's wrong B?" He asks. 

"It's literally just the fist day we're back and we already have all this drama." Betty says as she closes her eyes, feeling exhausted. 

"What happened?" He asks concerned and hating that his Betty can never be happy and he hates it. Why can't she just be happy for once. Feeling angry with everyone but Toni the most, he understands that she's afraid for Betty but Jughead has literally done so much to prove that all he wants is to make Betty happy. 

"Everything happened Kev. First the incident with the locker, the confrontation with Cheryl and Veronica, then Toni once again asking me to consider breaking up with Jughead, Archie, then Toni and Veronica again" She says almost not believing the shit show she's had to endure in the last 5 hours. 

"Look, i know everything seems fucked up right now but you guys need to stay strong and be there for one another. Nobody said love would come easy because if it did then it isn't right" kevin tells her placing a kiss on the top of the blonde beauty's head making her smile again. 

"I guess you're right" She says back to him 

"Of course I am, I always am" He then replies making them both laugh "Besides what did Toni and Veronica want?" he then asks. 

"I'm not sure but Jughead thinks it's to tell me about him sleeping with Cheryl" She confesses. 

"WHAT!?" Kevin asks in shock "when the hell did this happen? And when did he tell you?" He asks her.

Betty breathes in and out and tells him everything that Jughead had told her, leaving him more in shock but mostly because Betty already knew. 

"So he told you?" He asks her

"Yeah he did, it was the second day that we spent together in the trailer and asked him to tell me everything that he thought I needed to know before we came back and well he told me" Betty says to her best friend who is looking at her in shock still, the bell rings making them both stand up and thanking that they have most of their classes together and began walking out of the lounge noticing that their friend Toni was walking out of the supply close with none other than Cheryl Blossom. 

"Uh why were they together now?" Betty asks with confusion

"Maybe to ask her about her and Jughead?" Kevin asks not fully believing it himself

"Then why does Toni have red lipstick smeared on her lips?" Betty asks as she looks up at her friend with a curious look on their faces.
