It All Started With A Sprite

Stella and Justina were two people trying to get by in college.

One was an asexual female, the other was a bisexual, nonbinary mess.

But that wasn't important for their careers.

Stella wanted to be a translator for Korean, Japanese and a little bit of Spanish.

Justina wanted to be a freelance artist or editor, maybe both.

One day, Stella and Justina were just vibing in their dorm, playing Overwatch, Apex, anything they could do to pass the time for their next exam.

Justina went over to their mini-fridge, opening it and getting out a Coca Cola.

"Damn.. that one dream I had about that vampire kid named Jungkook might come true for you now- we're out of Sprite, bro."

Stella sighed, getting up from her side of the room, "Alright, I'll go get some. Even though it's," she checked the clock on the wall, "Three in the morning."

"It's three? Shit, I gotta fix my sleep schedule.. I'm not tired at all, dude.." The messy-haired creature ruffled their own hair, looking up at the clock.

"Damn, it really is three- jeez, I guess I'm not passing this animation course.."

Stella laughed a little, patting her friend's shoulder as she draped her jacket over her neck. "It's alright. I'm sure that you can pass with the sheer talent you have! They'll have to recognize it at some point," she spoke confidently, trying to help her friend's ego.

It worked, and Justina smiled back. "Alright, I'll believe you. I just gotta finish the final sketches of Yun dancing to Black Swan and that'll be it." They huffed, turning on their iPad Pro. "Well, be safe while getting your Sprite, man! Don't need you getting kidnapped by any damn vampire guys."

"You're awfully talkative about vampires today. You sure you don't have a kink for them as well?"

"One hundred percent sure. I'm giving you fanservice by talking about it- hEY-!"

They shouted, dodging the small Pomeranian dog plushie Stella threw at them.

"Okay, okay, you don't have a vampire kink- just go get your Sprite."

While Stella exited their dorm room, she instantly felt a bit colder than usual. Maybe her jacket wasn't thick enough, she reasoned, and continued walking through the halls of their large college campus and walking out of the main doors.

She felt a bit at ease while walking in the cold, crisp air. It was definitely a step-up from being cooped up in that damn dorm room anyways.. Stella didn't mind her roommate at all though. In fact, Justina was the reason Stella had managed to stay sane during her courses of language translation. It was just cooping her up in there constantly. Their dorm room wasn't huge or anything and it left Stella feeling a little claustrophobic.

As she walked outside, she heard footsteps behind her. She froze up when she felt a hand against her waist, the other snaking around to her cheek.

A cold, lengthy hand wrapped around her mouth, clawed fingers preventing her from making any sound.

"My apologies. I haven't eaten in so long.."

A deep, rumbling voice muttered.

Before Stella could process what was happening, a deep, searing pain made its way to the left side of her neck.

She tried screaming, but the hand of the SS-Rated Ghoul refused to let her make a sound.
