Headcanons #1-Kondraki

Welp, since I got  some positive comments from you guys, I've decided to do the headcanon thing!

Up first for the chopping block is Konny!

I think one of my oldest headcanons I have is that Kondraki is Jewish.

Now, I don't exactly remember when I started headcanoning this but I know it was since pretty early on. I think I got it from reading a few different tales that made reference to him being Jewish and reading from a blog centered around him.

I just thought it would make sense.

I also don't think he's very religious. Like, I don't see him going to a synagogue every saturday. Konny would definitely still celebrate all the holidays and stuff, hold mitzvahs for his kids, etc., but wouldn't pray very often.

I think Ben became more atheistic as he grew up and became distant from his family/ stared to resent them (reasons for which I'll explain in another headcanon) in his late teens and 20s. However, after he joined the Foundation and saw/ experienced all the madness that comes with it, Ben came back around to the idea of there being a god (or multiple) and became agnostic.

Despite this, I don't think he'd pray often, maybe because he doesn't have the time or maybe because he feels like he doesn't need to. If he does feel like he has to pray, then you know things have gone to shit.

I remember reading something on a tumblr blog about how Kon would fast during Yom Kippur (I think that was the holiday mentioned) and pray while Draven lay in hospice in a coma. I think that same kind of thing would apply to similar scenarios.

Multiple GOI attacks on the site he works at, almost killing some of his friends? Pray. Clef? Draven/ someone he loves sick and injured? Pray. Everything's gone to shit in general? Pray.

I think it would be a way for him to feel like he's doing something in a situation where he feels completely helpless or that he can't o anything about. A way to hopefully help everything okay again.

(Angst/ sadness over)

Kondraki also seems like the kind of guy who likes being in Jewish communities. Like, he'd live in an area of the city with a large Jewish community (I don't think the drs live on site for safety reasons) just to feel a little bit closer to home or a little bit safer.

I also headcanon that he grew up in a small town in Montana where his family was the only only Jewish one for miles around and, to say the least, some people didn't like that very much.

(Okay, no more sad from here on, promise)

He and Clef, if they're together, celebrate all the holidays together even though Clef isn't Jewish.

He also doesn't seem like he knows a lot of Yiddish or Hebrew, maybe a little from his bar mitzvah or cultural osmosis but not enough to from any proper sentences.
