(Lol, I missed Saturday AGAIN. What is time even.)

(Okay, so, today is special in that since it's so close to the start of Ramadan (On the 24th), I basically decided to do a feature on a character I headcanon as Muslim.)

So... Kain! I'm pretty sure some, if not most of you know him or at least have heard of him, he's the Dr. who is a golden retriever.

If you don't know him, then here's his official wiki page

(Note: This author page is newer so I may reference some things that aren't on here anymore.)

Anyhow, for the longest time, I've headcanoned him as Muslim and Saudi Arabian (Born in the U.S.) for a good while now because I just can't see him as a white guy, bleach blonde, yes, but white? No.

I like to think that is real first name is Azhar, because his old author page said his name started with an 'A' and had 5 letters. Pathos Crow is something I think he made up in college because people didn't want to put in the effort of saying or spelling his actual last name correctly.

I also like to think that he was blind as a human, specifically with glaucoma, and that the dog he is now was actually his old guide dog Kain because of the classical revival tales.

His first year or so in the body were tough, not only because of the balance shift from 2 legs to 4 and the whole being another species thing but also because he regained his vision. Thankfully, a few years have passed and he's mostly okay with his body.

I don't think he minds being a dog too much, as long as he can live comfortably, though he was peeved that he's neutered. He does miss being human a lot, coffee and chocolate were some of his favorite foods, but being a dog has some benefits, pets and being blonde without having to bleach his hair are definite pluses.

Yes, he wears glasses but they're for colorblindness, not vision correction.

I can totally see him retaining a lot of his (Kain's, not Azhar's) guide dog training and old memories before the body transfer.

I can also see him still practicing his faith as much as possible, fasting during Ramadan, praying 5 times a day, etc. Being a dog is no excuse to not do that.

And that's that! Happy Ramadan to any Muslim readers and have a safe quarantine everyone!
