There is an explanation on to why this stuff is happening. O bue
"I didn't do anything!" Impulse sighed as Grian and Doc continued to argue. Walking to school with these two was a bad idea but Zed and Tango lived far away. And Xisuma was off sick.
They were cutting through the park, trees surrounding them as they cut across the open field. It was winter still so the sun was just peeking over the horizon, painting the park in a soft glow. It would be calming if Grian and Doc didn't insist on arguing again.
"Yes you did! If hadn't touched our plant like we agreed then Bdubs wouldn't of blown up on you-"
Impulse had to block them out as he glanced around, bringing the red scarf (he definitely didn't steal from Tango) up to protect his mouth and nose from the winter chill.
Something in the tree line caught his eye, the darkness made it hard to see and the soft sunlight made it more difficult to make out what (or who) it was.
Impulse stopped and distantly he heard the other two continue to argue and get further away, but this thing made Impulse stop.
It was like what shadows looked like. It engulfed the entire tree line, but still seemed to be only a bit taller than him. He stared for who knew how long. He felt afraid. Not the normal 'watching-a-horror-movie' scared but a 'something-isn't-right' scared.
A fear that felt both natural and unnatural at the same time.
He didn't know how long he stared at the thing until a hand fell into his shoulder, shocking him out the trance like state he was trapped in.
"You ok?" Doc asked and Grian watched on concerned, completely silent.
Impulse shook off the feeling and glanced into the tree line to find nothing. He looked up at Doc then to Grian and offered a slightly-forced smile, hoping the two wouldn't notice.
"I'm fine, I just got a bit lost in my thoughts. Didn't need to stop for me like that though." Impulse waved off their concern and carried on across the field, mild running with ideas of what he saw. And the feeling he got from it.
The two followed and the argument started again, Impulse repressed a sigh and went ahead. He remembered when they were just starting as a group, as stereotypical as it sounds they met in detention.
Back then there wasn't constant fighting, the arguing or the occasional physical fight (courtesy of Bdubs and Iskall mostly)
As he walked he didn't notice the other two falling to far behind and how he walked off the path, into the dense and dark tree line. Until he falls over a rock. He hit his head on a few small pebbles and groaned. He sat up slowly and rubbed his forehead, the place that got the worst damage but luckily there wasn't any bleeding.
"Impulse..."
"Hello?" Impulse looked around and tensed, one hand subconsciously clutching the red scarf. He looked around and tried to stand up, only to find out he couldn't.
Nothing was holding his leg down, but he couldn't stand up no matter how hard he tried. It was as if his leg was held down by some invisible force.
"Don't Trust The Demon Or The Prince"
"Demon and Prince? I'm sorry I don't understand." The unease and fright from before had returned and Impulse looked around frantically to find whervit was coming from. It sound like it was all around him.
"You will learn soon"
"IMPULSE!" Tango burst out the bushes and the voice, the unrelenting pressure on Impulses chest was gone in an instant. Like it was never there.
