It does not feel right these past few days, on 18th the mayor had his daughter's funeral, we were invited to it and yet everything about it still feels as odd as ever. My dad is well acquainted with the mayor through work, but my mom and I were only able to meet him once and that was when we were invited to his house.

The day we met the mayor's family was the last time we saw them as a family. When I asked about what has happened between my parents and them, they would always say "things are better left alone". My dad also stopped working closely with the mayor after the visit happened. But, it was the last time I saw their daughter and that her name was Susan and she was older than me at the time we met, which was rather odd that she was 10, she was 2 years older than me, but she was the most annoying person I have met.

The time we went to their house, which was unusually large for a mayor of a town 'poorer than gold, but richer than bronze', was unusual. The ceiling was newly decorated with lavish colors, the walls were smothered with paintings of different cultures and genres and the coating of the walls were similar, but a different take. This now that I think about it seems to me that they were trying to make my parents feel jealous, this was a cheap trick. Though it might have not been the case of making my parents jealous, due to the house being entirely new and workers were working on the backside of the house.

As I was saying, the time we went to their house, I was introduced to their daughter Susan and my parents introduced me to Susan, after which we were told to play in a different room, so they could talk about some unusual or weird things. This did not make much sense to me at the time, but it was unusually strange for me because my parents would never talk business near me and it was extremely unexpected because my mom never seemed to be a business-oriented person.

When in which, while they were talking obnoxiously with the thin walls between us, Susan kept on bugging me while I was trying to eavesdrop on their conversations. This in which after her pointless blabbering, I got annoyed and left the room to ask my parents if we can go, though I was interested in their conversations, I got rather bored of sitting there and listening to such nonsense.

When I went outside, my parents got into an argument, though I have a vague memory of what it was, I hastily asked my parents to leave because they seemed to be at their utmost fury and limit, this came in as a relief to them because they now have a valid reason to go and not having to deal with everything that was happening.
