Yesterday night, I was not able to fully tell you what happened during the funeral, due to be continuously talking about pointless, but memorable things that have transpired. So, today is the best time to talk about what happened.

The day of the funeral.

The day was sunny, almost like the sadness of the forgotten is hidden from the dark depths of this world,

The park was empty, the whispers were roaming, yet none in sight, this was were the funeral was taking place and with a single glance into the depths of the park trees, I saw the forgotten graveyard. The graveyard was like none, the whispers were none but rumors of the killer and as I got closer the dark and gloomy hole of sadness for the lost grew and when I reached the grave of Susan Wellstone, the black hole became larger and stronger, it was as if the black hole was sucking me into its black abyss.

I did not know much of the mayor and his wife, but the dispute between my parents and them, but it was seldom that my parents talk about them. Today, they told me to take their place at the funeral, my parents thought they knew the mayor and his wife, they had refused to come, as though they were not coming because of their past. This was unusual for my parents, they are not the ones to shy away from someone in the time of need, they would often comfort those they did not know and even spent their time helping them instead of working in their jobs. I still do not understand it, what could have happened between them to separate them even in the time of need, it was unusual even for the likes of my parents.

As I walked closer, it became clear to me that the chairs were emptied, it was only the mayor and his wife standing there near the grave of Susan, their eyes were dark like the abyss, their hands clenched together with hatred and their clothes, old and unclean as if they were here for a few days just waiting there with the darkness that is about to swallow them whole. Their faces are what truly brought back the fear I felt back in the days I feared the darkness, their faces pale as ghosts and skinny as if they were starving. It was like none that I ever saw and as I approached their forgotten souls, they merely glanced at me for what seemed to be a minute, but it was all but a mere second, their glance seemed as though they were looking for answers, these answers to which I knew none of was what made me feel true fear, the fear of losing one to which I cannot comprehend. This was like none like when my aunt died, it was different, almost what I felt the entire day was hatred, not towards me as such, but towards somebody else. I spoke none to the mayor nor to his wife, but with all my breath I ran away. It was not the right thing to do to people in need, but what can anyone do except to run away from the abyss that can consume all and what can one man do against something that he himself fears.
