Elizabeth's POV
As the days went on in New Meteli the group decided that it would be better if we moved to Phoenix drop the people of the New Meteli started to follow Aphmau everywhere she went because they saw her as Lady Irene. Damian and I started talking more and, more but it was different now. Sometimes he'd bring up how he used to be the one I'd rely on and say how he should be the one in charge of guarding me since he knew me better. Laurence laughed it off and put his arm on my shoulder. "Me and her made a deal we watch each other's backs". Of course Damian looked mad and walked off. I couldn't see Laurances face but I was sure he wore a smirk. Damian and him had been at each others throats since they met. After a couple of discussions we decided it would be best for aphmau to leave for Phoenix drop first with Garroth. Damian would come with me and Laurance.
"Elizabeth this must bring back old memories." Damian said with a smirk we were riding on horse back.
"Ha it does! Laurance we used to go out of the village on patrol." I said with a smile.
"Back then we were really close." Damian moved his horse closer to mine looking at laurance with a challenging gaze.
"Well I'm sure you guys were but, 3 years is a long time, I'm sure it didn't take long to become a shadow knight. So what did you do for those three years." Laurance meeting his gaze with a challenge one of his own.
"Laurance Damian don't fight..."
"Well after I became a shadow knight I couldn't get out of the nether for a while, so how did you spend your time in the nether." His voice raises slightly annoyed.
"I was leading the resistance against the shadow lord." Laurance's voice raises back both of them glaring at each other.
They both get off their horses.
"If you really despised him that much you should have switched sides!"
"I HAD NO CHOICE." I got off my horse. They started pushing each other yelling at each other like children.
"Will you guys stop fighting!" They've been at it for weeks I was sick of it.
Damian throws the first punch at Laurance he doges. Laurance throws a punch back which lands on Damians jaw. I push myself in between them but as I do Damian punches me square in my jaw, in a fit of rage. In shock Laurance catches me as I fall. Immediately the color drains from his face as he realized what he did. I looked at Laurance and he looks more angry than I've ever seen him.
"Elizabeth I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you I'm so sorry!"
His words fall on deaf ears as Laurance examines my face at where the punch landed he looked pissed just about before Laurance looked like he was gonna pounce on him.
"Laurance I'm fine I've dealt with worse." I backed away from both of them I was so angry. "WHAT IN IRENE WERE YOU TWO THINKING!"
Both Laurance and Damian flinched. "Do you guys honestly have any sense you guys are acting like teenagers! We have to get to Phoenix drop I don't want to hear a word out of both of you."
Both Laurance and Damian got onto the horses with not more than a word.
After a long track we reached Phoenix drop Dante greeted us that the gate he looked at all three of us and saw the bruises on both mine and Damians jaws.
"What on earth happened to the two of you?" Dante looked clearly worried.
Laurance was about to speak but I cut him off.
