My eyes feel heavy. My head is spinning. Nothing too complicated is staying in my head. Let me stick to simple sentences. Wakes up. Gets up. Looks for Max. Finds Max fishing. "Max..." I say, "Max... I'm dizzy." I'm hallucinating now. I see Max transform into some kind of hybrid creature. He has claws and sharp teeth. I stagger backwards and fall into the lake. I don't seem to know what is going on, because when I submerge, I keep breathing. I start coughing. The water seems to have knocked me into my senses. I swim up and land on my back on the wet earth. I am coughing. Max starts slapping me on the back until I have spit out the remaining water that had entered my trachea.
"Are you okay?" asks Max.
"Yeah..." I manage to cough out, "When I woke up... I never felt so week and vulnerable-ever. I was in so much pain and I was so dizzy."
"Hmm," Max thinks, "I don't know. Maybe it's from sleeping on earth where you were so used to sleeping in sold mud concrete."
"Maybe," I say confused. The hallucinations didn't stop though. There were on and off. One moment , I see a tiger leaping from tree to tree, the next, I see a snake tightening around me. I scream. "Max! Max the snake! Help! It's-choking-me!"
"There is no snake!" Max hollers. I keep yelling for help as Max turns around and runs for a stream. He splashes water on my face, and I can breathe again. The snake is gone. These hallucinations feel so real sometimes I can't even tell if I am experiencing reality or not.
We don't travel that much today. Another soundless, scary night might just trigger something more...
