Salaera's P.O.V.
"We need to get up." I told my wife as I kissed her on the lips. "We are expecting Ensley and Eliar to enter the north today." I stood from the bed and dropped my robe, making my way to our closet, picking out my outfit. After I was dressed Zestari walked in and hugged me from behind, kissing my neck at the same time. "Get yourself dressed while I get the children ready." I told her as I left the room, headed to get Elias and Arlayna ready for the day.
I entered Arlayna's bedroom and lightly shook her awake. "It's time to wake up baby. Some of your cousins will be in the north today. I thought that we could meet them today." She turned over and looked at me, eyes just barely open. "I love you mommy." She said as she wrapped her small arms around one of mine. "Come on, it's time to get up." I said before pushing off of her bed.
I passed Elias on the way to his room. "Hey hun. How long have you been awake?" I asked him. He stopped in the hallway and said, "I haven't been awake long. Is there something that you are needing?" I shook my head and said, "No. I just got word that some of your cousins will be in the north today and I thought that it would be nice to go see them if you would like to join us." He nodded his head and said, "I don't see why not. I guess just come find me when it's time to go." With that he made his way to the kitchen. Before he was out of ear shot, I turned and said, "Oh, and find your brother. I'm sure that he's getting into some mischief as we speak." Elias let out a small laugh before saying, "Of course mom. Anything for you."

Danarya's P.O.V.
"We need to head to Minas Tirith." I told Riatis as we flew through the air. Can it not wait? With Gruvas on our tail I don't think that it would be wise to go that close to evil. Riatis said as we continued to fly in the direction that we were going. "No. It can't wait. I have to get to Minas Tirith. Mankind will fall if I don't make it there." Riatis groaned but turned in the other direction anyway. You know the people of Minas Tirith have probably never seen a dragon before. We might get shot out of the sky. "That's a risk that we are going to have to take."
It took us three and a half days of flying with minimal stops before we made it to the great city of Gondor. It was such a beautiful city, but with beauty comes danger. With the city being so close to Mordor, it was in almost a constant state of distress and war.
Just as Riatis predicted, the closer we got to the city, the more dragon piercing arrows flew our way. "Land just outside of the gate. Let them come to us." The dragon dove down to the ground and landed fifty yards from the gate. I slipped down off of his back and walked a little ways away from the dragon, making sure that the scouts could see me.
It took awhile before anyone came to meet me, but when they did, it was a company of two men and two boys about my age. Their horses wouldn't get more than thirty yards from the dragon so the men had to walk the rest of the way. "Lord Denathor has sent us with a peace treaty. You can have whatever land that you wish as long as you do not lay siege on our great city." The older guard said. He had peppered hair and wrinkles on his face.
"I did not come here to lay waste upon the great city of Gondor. I only came because I had to. Gandalf the Grey sent me. He said that if I do not protect your city, mankind will fall." I said to the guards and the two boys. I saw their bodies relax as relief washed over them. "Alright then. Shall we make our way back?" The younger guard said as he turned towards where they left the horses. "Sure is going to be a long walk in a full suit of armor." I said as I climbed onto the back of Riatis. "I'll meet you four up there." Riatis lifted us up off of the ground, sending wind gusts towards the four men, knocking the smallest boy down to the ground. Up towards the keep. I said through our mind link. The pitch black dragon shot into the sky and made his way to the stark white keep where he landed by a dead looking tree.

Boromir's P.O.V.
When father told us that Faramir and I were to go with two guards to deal with a dragon situation, I just thought that he was trying to get us out of the keep and out of his hair. I had no idea that there was an actual dragon.
When my brother and I stood practically next to the dragon, our jaws dropped. It was the largest beast that we had ever seen. The scales were black and it had horns atop its head. Some of the scales across the body were different colors, kind of like the feathers of a raven. This beast wasn't like the ones that we heard about in our bedtime stories when we were children. This dragon wasn't ferocious or evil. It was peaceful and looked loving. We were mesmerized.
The girl standing next to the dragon was just as beautiful. She had long silver hair and a delicate face. She was as beautiful as an angel. I was only seventeen at the time, but I knew that when it was my time to sit upon the throne, I wanted her by my side.

Fili's P.O.V.
Vamorys and I had only been on the road for three days, but it felt like an eternity. We saw each of our children fly over our heads, all going in a different direction. Some part of me knew that this is not how my life was supposed to go. My children weren't all supposed to leave me, threatening their own lives. They were too young to be doing this. They were supposed to rule Erebor.
I looked at Vamorys, her face was filled with sorrow. I could tell that she was thinking exactly what I was thinking. Her life wasn't supposed to be like this. She wasn't supposed to end up with a dwarf prince half her size. She was supposed to wed a mighty horse lord or a prince of the sea. Not me... And maybe that is why we never did. Our lives were so busy when we got to Easthaven that getting married just slipped our minds. It was one kid after the next and then the whole ordeal with Gruvas, we just never really had the time to make everything official.

Eliar's P.O.V.
It was nearly dusk and we were still in the wastelands of the north, nowhere near where we needed to be. But, no one really told us where we needed to be before we left Easthaven. "I really think that we should be going Ensley. I have a bad feeling about this place." I said to my sister as I looked around the spooky wasteland. She ignored me and continued looking to the north.
I looked to the sky but Thaebir and Vykien were nowhere insight. "Come on Ensley. Even if the dragons aren't here right now, we still need to keep moving. We are sitting ducks right now." She looked at me and nodded her head. "Okay. Let's get out of here. I'm sure that they will be able to find us." She walked close behind me as we headed to the ruined city of Esheka.
We walked well into the night, no sign of either dragon coming back anytime soon. It was almost pitch black outside. The only light that we had was the light of the moon and stars. "This doesn't make any sense. The dragons should have come back by now." Ensley said, looking to the sky, trying to find an inconsistency in the stars. I agreed with her. There was no way that something wasn't wrong, they should have found us by now.
A cry from one of the dragons came from above us. I looked to the sky for a split second before I heard Ensley yell, "No Eliar! Move!" But it was too late. I stepped down and felt a crunch and then heard a breathy hiss. As the basilisk rose from its nest and prepared to strike, Ensley pushed me out of the way, taking on the full force of the snake's jaws.
"Run. Eliar. Run." Ensley said. Her words were breathy as the huge serpent crushed all of the air from her lungs. As much as I wanted to run away from this horrific scene, my legs would not allow it. "I... I can't" I said to my sister. It was getting harder and harder for her to breathe by the second. Blood was running from her nose and the corner of her eyes. "I... I love you... Eliar. Now... Run!" She said with the last of the air that was in her lungs. As I heard the bones snap in her body, a deathly scream came from above as Vykien died. Thaebir... Help me.

Vamorys' P.O.V.
Fili and I were preparing to lay down for the night when a sharp pain went through my heart. It brought me down to the ground, my hand desperately clutching at my chest. The pain took the breath away from me, almost to the point of suffocation. "What is it? What is wrong?" Fili asked, rushing to my side. When I finally caught my breath, I sat up. "Something terrible has happened Fili. I don't know what, but it feels as if part of my heart has broken off and died." Tears filled my eyes as I told him. "It's one of the children. I just know it is."
