Vamory's P.O.V.
Fili and I packed our bags in silence. Both of our hearts were broken and we feared that if we spoke a word about it, tears would flow like a swift river. "We still need to tell the children." Fili spoke softly, his voice full of hurt and fear. I nodded my head, fighting back tears. "I know." I said as I put the last of my items in my bag. "We will tell them at dinner."
Kili and Gandalf joined us for dinner that night. I wanted to try and have a normal last dinner as a family but the air was filled with so much tension that you could cut it with a knife. The older children knew that something wasn't quite right and the younger children soon picked up on the mood. "What is going to happen to us?" Nysah asked in a sweet yet terrified voice. I put my fork down and started to tell the children what all had happened today and what all Gandalf had told me.
"Your father and I will be leaving tonight. Dantis, you will be King of Easthaven. Take care of the Kingdom and our people. You will need to find a wife before the year is up. I know that you are still young, but it must be done." I said to him. He looked down at his plate and said, "I will try to be as good to our people as you were mother. "No Dantis. You will be better." I said before looking at Ensley and Eliar. "The two of you must take your dragons and go north. It will be scary at first, but just remember, if you ever need guidance, your aunt Salaera is in Aredale. She will always welcome you with open arms." The two looked at each other before saying, "Yes Mum." I quickly wiped away a tear before saying, "Alecor, your job will be one of the hardest of all. You will need to take back the Mines of Moria. It will be dangerous, but have courage. We all believe in you." Gandalf looked down at his food and played with his beard. He knew something that the rest of us didn't know. "Nysah, you will be going to Erebor with Uncle Kili until this is all over. Okay?" I asked the little girl. She nodded her head and said, "Yes Mama."
I turned towards Danarya and noticed that she still didn't have the mark of a dragon rider. "Danarya. You must complete the bond between Riatis and yourself. The fate of mankind rests on your shoulders. After that you must make your way to Minas Tirith. Guard the city with all your might until the rightful King emerges." Her jaw dropped. It was a moment before she could find the words that she was looking for. "Why me? Why must the fate of mankind rest on my shoulders? I don't want anything to do with a dragon after today." I figured after the run in with Ensley's dragon that she would be standoffish to her own. "Having a bond with your own dragon is different, Danarya. His duty is to protect you or die trying." She didn't say anything, she just looked down at her barely touched plate. "If you do not want your whole family to die, I suggest that you bond with Riatis." Gandalf said from the end of the table. "No matter what you do, if you do not have your dragon, they will all die."
The stable hands walked into the dining room and said, "Your horses are ready for you my Queen and King. I bid you safe travels." After that they exited the room. The doors shut behind them with a loud bang. I looked at Fili and said, "It is time for us to go." He grasped my hand before standing from his seat. We told each of the children goodbye before making our way down to the stables.

Kili's P.O.V.
After Vamorys and Fili left the dining hall, most of the children did as well. "It would be best if you left in the morning with Nysah." Gandalf said to me as he finished his food. I didn't know how he could even eat after what had just happened. "I won't have much time to see my nieces and nephews if I leave in the morning." I said to the wizard. He did not respond. He only stood from the table and exited the hall. I was left all alone with my thoughts.
I was still sitting at the table when the kitchen staff came in to clean up. "I'm sorry my lord. We can come back if you would like us to." One of the ladies said. "No. It's fine." I said as I stood from my seat and made my way to the bedroom that Vamorys and Fili had let me stay in.
Sleep did not easily find me that night, but when it finally had me in its grasp, my dreams were full of anguish.
~Kili's Dream~
Erebor was in flames again. This time by the doing of a dark shadow. People ran screaming towards the city of Dale while I held a lifeless Nysah in my arms. Her dragon screamed in agony as the shadow took him by the neck. Tears fell from my eyes and to the ground below.
The north rank of death as Eliar collapsed to the ground. Moria was overrun with orcs and a giant water monster fed on another beast. The shire burnt and the great cities of men fell as an everwatchful eye cast its gaze to the south.
~End of Dream~
I rose with the dawn and started to get everything together that Nysah and I would need on our way back to Erebor. The road would not be a long one thanks to her dragon, but for a first trip for her, it would be. It is a whole day of flying with no stops, but traveling with a ten year old would not be that easy.

Dantis' P.O.V.
I walked towards my mother's empty throne. For the first time I felt the weight of the responsibility that she had on my shoulders. I walked up to the throne and ran my hand over the cold metal. I sat upon it and looked out over the room. For the first time an overwhelming sadness washed over me.
"My King." A consultant of my mother said to me as he bowed. "Your mother had me gather suitors for you before she left Easthaven. They are ready whenever you are." I nodded my head and motioned him to start bringing them in.
It felt like hours had gone by before the perfect lady walked through the doors. She stood tall with confidence. Her long dark hair went just passed her shoulders and she wore a black dress and a fur overcoat. "I'm sorry to disturb you my King but I came to tell you that the kitchen is running low on potatoes and the farmers aren't pulling them from their fields in protest of your mother leaving." I couldn't believe that this lady in front of me wasn't someone that was chosen to be my suitor. I don't know how long I had been staring at her but it looked like she was starting to get uncomfortable. "What would you like me to do, my King?" I cleared my throat and asked, "What is your name my love?" She looked down at her feet, a blush creeping up on her cheeks.
She looked back up at me and said, "Brooke. My name is Brooke." A smile crept onto my face before I said, "Would you care to take a walk with me?" She smiled before nodding her head. I stood from the throne and walked down the steps. I took her arm in mine and headed towards the courtyard.~~~
Danarya's P.O.V.
"Come on you stupid dragon." I said under my breath. I stood next to the cliff that both Eliar and Ensley met their dragons at. I stood there for hours, but the dragon never showed its face.
The night was upon me before I realized it. The sky was cloudless and the moon shone bright enough to light my path. I finally let out a sigh and turned away from the cliff. I saw a dark figure in the distance. It was slightly bigger than the average sized man, but nowhere near the size of even a small dragon.
I made my way back to the kingdom and the dark figure followed me. I felt no fear and felt no sense of being in danger. Instead I felt a pull towards the dark figure. I stopped and turned away from the kingdom and towards the figure.
"Who are you?" I asked the darkness. He came closer and said, "You know who I am. Just like how I know who you are. Come with me Danarya, be my lady. I can show you the world like you've never seen before." Don't do it Danarya. Do not go towards him. Come to me instead. I didn't know what the other voice belonged to, but I felt a stronger pull towards the shadowy figure. I know what you are about to do, Danarya. Please, I beg of you. Don't do it. The mystery voice called to me again.
"Come with me Danarya and we can be the most powerful couple in all of Middle Earth." The shadowy figure said while stepping towards me again. He was now in the light of the moon and I could see that it was Gruvas. Run Danarya. The voice in my head said, and this time I listened to it.
I turned from him and took off for the kingdom walls. "You can't escape me." Gruvas said as a force took over my legs, tripping me. I fell face first into the ground. I fought to stand, but nothing I did would release my legs from his grasp. I felt the cold of Gruvas' body approaching mine.
I closed my eyes as he bent down over my body. He was about to touch the skin on my arm, but before he could I was swooped up off of the ground and into the air. "Riatis?"
