Bilbo's P.O.V.
As months passed and seasons changed, I began to wonder if my sweet Vamorys was ever going to show up at my doorstep once again. I stood by the window in my study and watched the road for Vamorys. "Uncle Bilbo! Who are you waiting for?" My nephew asked, coming up behind me undetected. I looked down at him and said, "I'm waiting on an old friend of mine." The boy's face lit up before asking, "Is Gandalf coming to visit?" He was practically jumping up and down at the thought of the grey wizard coming back to Baggend. I placed my hands on his shoulders, steadying his bounce before saying, "No. Queen Vamorys will be staying with us for a while. Now, why don't you go find your friends and play a game." The boy went to grab his coat and then ran to the door. "Be back before dark or else the dragons will get you!" I yelled out to him.
I watched Frodo run down the dirt road to the house of the Gamgees. His curly hair bounced as he ran, and the only thing that I could think about was what mine and Vamorys children would have looked like.
I scolded myself everyday for letting her get away from me. Our relationship had started out as just a friendship all those years ago, but as the quest went on, the more that I wanted to start a life with the wonderful woman after everything was over. I was going to ask for her hand before she had revealed that she was the Dragon Queen of Easthaven. After that bombshell was dropped, I thought that it would be best to just drop the subject and go back to Baggend to live out the rest of my days.
I had meant to visit her over these last sixteen years, but the day that I was packing my bags to start the long journey, news of what had happened to Frodo's parents had reached my ears. Because I had no heir of my own to take over my little hobbit hole, I took him in and raised the little boy as if he was my own.

Dusk started to fall as the crickets and frogs began to sing their tunes. I sat in my living room looking into the roaring fire that was in the fireplace. I sipped on hot tea and nibbled on a danish as rain began to steadily fall from the sky above.
Frodo had been in bed for a long while when I heard a faint knocking sound coming from my front door. I stood from my comfy chair, setting my empty mug on a side table, and made my way to the front door. I tightened my robe as a louder knock echoed throughout my little hobbit hole.
I gave the heavy door a strong pull and it creaked open, revealing a drenched Fili and Vamorys. "Please, come in. I thought that the two of you were never going to make it here." I said as I ushered them inside. "We cannot thank you enough Bilbo. It sure is good to see an old friend, I do hate that it had to be by these circumstances." Vamorys said as she leaned in and hugged me. Sparks ran through my body as she embraced me.
"Uncle Bilbo? Who are these people?" A sleepy Frodo said as he desperately tried to rub the sleep from his eyes. I turned towards him and said, "This is Queen Vamorys and Fili Durin." His face showed the slightest bit of awe as sleep started to over take him again. "Come on, little Frodo. It's time for you to get back to bed." I said to him as I ushered him off back to his room.

Salaera's P.O.V.
"Gandalf must have known that sending Ensley and Eliar into the far north would result in certain death. If Thaebir hadn't have shown up when he did, Eliar would have suffered the same fate." I said as I laid down in bed next to my wife. Zestari turned to me and wrapped her arms around me before she said, "It makes me really question what side the wizard is on. We went through enough trouble to bring Arlayna into our lives for this stupid quest. I don't want her to suffer the same fate that your sister's child has, and who knows how many more that wizard has sent to their deaths. We can always sail west Salaera. Away from all of this, to a safer land."
Zestari was right. The two of us had been thinking about this subject everyday since Eliar had shown up on our doorstep crying over his dead sister. "Is saving our little family better than saving the whole of mankind from this evil. We have no idea when it will reach other lands to the west as well." I said, turning to face her. Our lips were less than half an inch apart and I could feel every breath that she took on my top lip. Her silver eyes found mind and she said, "Yes Salaera. Keeping our family alive should be our number one priority. I would have hoped that you would've known that by now." With that she turned her back towards me and tried to get some sleep.
~Salaera's Dream~
Middle Earth burned behind me. Lands split and fell into a river of lava, and an ever watchful eye killed everything that it set its gaze to. "We must go. Go now!" I said to my family as I ushered them onto the last boat leaving Middle Earth forever. Deep down I knew that it was my fault that Middle Earth fell under absolute destruction that claimed so many lives.
An unknown land lay in front of us. It had a wall of ice in the north and unhatched dragons in the south. In the middle of the two sat a throne of iron. The land was full of green rolling hills, it looked so peaceful, and yet I could still feel a darkness here.
~End of Dream~
I woke from my dream with a start. My heart was racing and my blood ran cold. I can't just let that future happen. As long as I am alive, I will do everything in my power to keep the darkness at bay. I thought to myself before trying to get back to sleep.
It was nearly dawn when I had given up on sleep altogether. I couldn't stop thinking about the dream that I had that night. Everything in my being told me to do whatever I needed to do to keep my family safe, but I knew that if I did that, the whole world would eventually fall to destruction.

Sapha's P.O.V.
I curled around a large fire pit in the great hall of Moria. This mine was far too cold for me and all too often I found my body temperature falling below a safe level. I could feel my strength leaking from my body.
I heard a loud crash and laughter erupt from the dining tables. I looked over to find Alecor standing atop one of the long tables holding a whole chicken above his head. The smell of the meal made my mouth water. I don't remember the last time that I had a meal that consisted of more than a few chicken legs here and there. Please Alecor... I need to go hunting. You promised two days ago... I said over our mind link. I could tell that the connection was becoming weaker and weaker as everything that I had drained from my body.
He looked towards me, anger in his eyes, Can't you see that I'm with my new friends. Just find scraps like you always do. I'll take you outside when I have the time. After that he proceeded to slam the butt end of the chicken onto someone's head, fully engulfing it. I stood and walked to the large stone doors of Moria. Before I exited, I looked back at my boy and said, Vamorys and Dynir would be so disappointed in you. The relationship between your mother and my father was so special. I heard of every adventure that they went on. Everything that my father witnessed. I heard of you. That is why I chose you Alecor. I chose you in hopes that I would have a rider as compassionate and caring as your mother. But I was wrong. With that I pushed with all my strength to get through the doors of Moria. I felt the bond between Alecor and myself breaking and it slowly started to kill me.
The brisk air of the night hit my scales and my body temperature started to fall once more. I didn't know how much longer it would be before I would no longer be a part of this boy's story. I had hoped that I would be with him until he was old and grey. I wanted him to show me his children, and I wanted his children to show me their children. I looked at a cluster of three stars, one blue, one white, and one green. I will be with you soon. I am so sorry, father. I have failed.
