Levi's POV

Taking her usual afternoon nap, I was busy trying to refine what I would do for my proposal to her. I admit that I've been putting it off lately... and on that day when the twins were born... I was gonna propose to her. Between the twins' births and my marriage proposal, I wouldn't give up my daughters' birth for my proposal. After all, it's not that uncommon to proposal to your significant other after having kids.

I took out my guitar, gently playing a few cords. A soft tune came through, and I continued to play gently.

"When life seems... so far gone... there's always someone out there... to always hold your hand. High... high above the sea." I just couldn't stop playing. It was natural for me... and plus... we had a concert in the next few weeks. Before I was gone for about a week, I wanted to leave Hanji with an engagement ring resting on her finger. "Ohh... but I won't let you go. I won't let you fall. I will help you... help you fly. Up into the sky... we shall... soar." My strumming became much louder, but I began to play from my heart. This was... this was right. "Ahh... I will fly by your side. And with all the loved ones by our side- we shall fly for them. Flying all over. Going to places where we've never been..."

A couple more strums and I just... let go of myself.

"Jump with me- so we can begin our flight. Ahh... together we shall soar. Feeling the mist in our hands... never letting that feeling disappear. For together... we shall stand by each other... never letting go. To run across the world with just the power of flight. I can't tell you how much my heart will pound! Ahh..."

At that moment, I heard Hanji shuffling a bit, and I stopped playing. Putting aside my guitar, I ran back to Hanji's side. She groans softly, continuing to shuffle.

"Hanji, you're alright?"

Groggily, she nods her head. "T-The twins... where are... where are they...?"

"Both are sleeping peacefully in their cribs. Honestly, you're worrying way too much. It even gets me worried for you. Are you sure you want me to leave you here with the twins? What if something bad happens during that concert? What if-"

"Shh... now you're worrying me." She chuckles softly, reaching out for her glasses. I helped her get them, and she puts it on her bird-like nose. Thankfully our kids didn't inherit her nose. "Levi, I think it's important that you satisfy your fans by going to that concert. Go. Don't worry about me. In the end, I got Nanaba by my side."

"And what if your ex comes back? I won't be here to chase him away."

"We'll be fine, Levi..."

I shrugged, chuckling softly. "Say... we get Nanaba here... and we can finish that one picnic we never got? Just sitting under the clear skies... a last time between us two. Want to do it? Again, Nanaba will be here with the twins. And certainly Farlan and Isabel will be here as well. 3 people who love the twins will take care of them just fine. So?"

"You got me convinced. Let's go then."

This time... this has to be it. The evening to finally propose to her. When she was busy staring and chatting about the stars, I was busy getting my guitar out with its ring. Taking a deep breath, I started to play a few notes. It attracted her towards me as she listened to my song for her.

"I felt a flicker of fire lighting my heart when I saw you..." I continued to play the notes, smiling softly. Everything that I was playing... no specific notes. No pre-planning. Nothing. Just me singing out my heart for her. "And it only grew... for you..."

Hanji smiled, leaning forward towards me as I played.

"For one burdened with so much stones in her heart... you stood strong. For when you felt lost, I showed the path. Don't you worry... for I shall stay by your side. I won't ever let you go... and I will always stay by your side. No matter what others say... don't ever forget... I... love... you..."

She claps her hands once the last string was strum. "That was beautiful, Levi."

"Thanks... glad you liked it." She continues to lean into me, and I pulled her closer. "Anyways... about that song..."

"Are you putting it in your concert?"

I shook my head, "No... it's just for you. Only you. It's a song that we would always keep together... and... it pairs up perfectly for a night like this one."

"Oh?" She giggles softly, laying her head on my shoulder. "And what is the great Ackerman hiding from me?"

Rummaging through my pocket, I took out the ring. I thought it would be more romantic if I actually held the ring than it being in its box. It's too... standard. "Well... with its romantic song, it needs its romantic partner. So... will you be mine?"

She gasps when I presented the ring. "Levi..."

"Will you be my partner forever more? Stay by my side? Raise the twins together? What do you say?"

"I say..." Outstretching her hand and she was allowing me to put the ring on her ring finger. "I say yes, Levi Ackerman... I'll be your partner forevermore." Before I knew it, she jumped onto me and she giggled. "I love you!"

"I love you too, my love."
