Levi's POV
My manager in the music realm kept contacting me as I tried to work. Saying over and over on how I needed to clear the air about my wedding ring. I was at a loss of how that little thing slipped through our minds. Hanji continued to blame herself over and over about her not noticing, but to be honest, no one realized.
A small cry from Iris made me snap back to reality. Raven, on the other hand, was awake and silently playing with her toy. Hanji dropped the twins off with me because she had to run some errands. I went over to her, picking up the crying Iris. Her face was red from crying, but then I heard it.
"Hungry, aren't ya?" I chuckled, reaching into the mini fridge. It was still cold to the touch, so I went over to my bathroom to warm it up. Iris continued to scream in my ear as I readied her bottle. "Shh... almost done, almost done." The warm water dripped outside of the bottle, warming up the milk. Seconds passed and the milk was finally warmed up.
Walking over to my chair again, I carefully cradled the crying Iris. I adjusted her in my arms where she wasn't hurting... and I gently pushed the bottle into her mouth. She continued to cry, so I squeezed the top a bit to let some milk through. Once she tasted it, she slowly stopped crying and continued to suck on the bottle.
Raven then coos gently, reaching up from her little play pen. "What? Don't tell me you're hungry too..." I chuckled softly, looking away. "Don't worry... I'll get to you soon. That I promise. First, let's get your sister fed."
At that same time, I tried to work on some more paperwork before getting back to the grave reveal of my mistake. Then my little intercom went off from my assistant out in front.
"Sir, you got a visitor."
"Let 'em in." I say, sighing heavily. My first thought was that this person would've been my manager and would try to help me fix the mistake. Two options were available... either one, leave it off to the side and hope the public would forget about it... or try to explain why I was wearing it. But that came with two options as well. To tell the truth or to hide it.
The door buzzed, and I was ready to speak to my manager.
"Half a million." He was a sight I never wanted to see. "Half a million." He repeats with a growl. "All to find her... you had her..."
I shook my head, cradling Iris to my chest. "Ah, you were... Erwin Smith..."
He slammed his hand on the table, which made Iris squirm in my arms. "These are yours? And Hanji's? Half a million all around trying to find her... and she decides to have a life with a pathetic man like you?"
"If I was pathetic, why would she live with me?"
Erwin continued to growl, "You are pathetic if you accept my deal. Give Hanji back to me, and I can reveal your other persona. Don't lie to me about it. It was a packaged deal to not only find Hanji... but to also see that you were Captain of U.F.O."
I chuckled softly, "Of course, I am pathetic to accept that deal. Hanji's not an object. I wouldn't take that damn deal. Go ahead and reveal it- I don't care. When it comes to my family... I will do anything for them." I rose my hand with my wedding ring and just gave a grin. "I was planning to stop U.F.O. anyways. The stress is just too much."
"You... married her?!"
"Idiot." I scoffed, laying Iris in the playpen with her bottle and picked up the quiet Raven. "Of course I did. Get out before I call security. I can even put a restraining order on you. Get near my family... I will find a way to put you down. You can't even put the fear in me. In any case, your appearance was just... premature. Get out."
He scoffs, growling more than ever. "I really do love her, Ackerman."
"If you did, why cheat in the first place? I mean... thanks to that, I got an amazing wife and twin daughters. I don't know if I should hate you... despise you even for hurting her feelings... but look at our outcome. One side benefited by one single mistake."
Erwin Smith walks out, and it seemed like he would never come back.
But thinking that last line I gave to him... I can benefit from having a peaceful life with Hanji now. No more stress with concerts and writing music. No more stress with balancing between my actual company and my hobby. Letting go... though the fans would hate it desperately... I'll embrace it. That ring was my little mistake... and I'll embrace the outcome. Even if I get hit with a wave of anger and disappointment... I can embrace the life with my family.
