The Smallest Hell spawn (A Hazbin Hotel Side Story)

Chapter One- Night Terrors

'By the time Lilith had left it had gotten rather late, naturally Charlie and Vaggie went to bed after going through their usual nightly routine of getting ready for bed'

'Brushing their teeth, changing into sleepwear putting Ryker to bed and locking up the hotel'

'However for some reason tonight Charlie had a distinctly difficult time sleeping. She had stayed up for hours struggling to fall asleep'

'She didnt understand why she was having such a difficult time sleeping. But she did know one thing'

'Somthing didnt feel right. Not in the sense that some sort of impending doom was hanging over her. But in the sense that somthing was wrong'

'Begrudgingly Charlie gets out of bed rubbing her eyes momentarily before grabbing her phone and turning on its flashlight'

'Walking down to the kitchen she grabs a glass of water, quickly drinking it before turning and walking back up to her and Vaggie's bedroom'

'Once inside the room she checks Ryker's little bedroom to make sure she hadnt woken him up'

'Only to be greeted with somthing she had never heard come from the young hellspawn before'

'Ryker, was whimpering. Atleast that was the closest thing she could compare to what he was doing'

'Quietly walking over to his crib and lifting the lid, Ryker had curled up in a ball with his hands scratching at his head, a quiet and rather scared sounding rumble coming from him every so often'

'His tail was twitching slightly, the tip of it seeming to shake momentarily, a crack visible at the center of the arrow like tip'

'Charlie gently reached down however the moment she made contact with Ryker he jumped to to life, however that was hardly the most startling part of this ordeal'

'The tip of Ryker's tail had opened up letting a sharp metal blade pop out before stabbing near Charlie's hand in defense'

'Ryker had back up into the corner of his crib with his usual normal glow having turned a blood red color, tears visibly having formed at the corner of his eyes'

Charlie: "Hey,hey. It's just me" 'Charlie says softly, crouching down as she does so'

'Upon hearing one of his adoptive mother's voices Ryker's glow begins to turn back to normal, his tail wrapping around his waist once more as he let's out a quiet yet still shaking hum'

'Charlie's face softens recognizing the clearly distraught and frightened look on Ryker's face'

'As Ryker slowly makes his way forward, almost unsure if Charlie is actually there his eyes widen slightly once he gets close enough to see her properly, only begining to shake more'

Charlie: "Oh..no,no,no c'mere" 'Charlie says with a concerned tone, picking Ryker up'

'Once Charlie has Ryker in a comfortable position she expects for some form of outburst. Like most babies would have after a nightmare'

'However Ryker was just as quiet as always, despite the fact he had started crying, a stream of glowing Yellow tears flowing from each eye'

'Before Charlie can react, buries his head into Charlie shoulder, doing his best to wrap his small arms around her'

'Rather quickly Charlie realized whatever sort of nightmare he had, must have been a bad one, not quite sure what to do an idea Dawn's on her'

'Quietly Charlie walks back into her and Vaggie's room, lifting the covers aside, earning a tired groan from Vaggie as Charlie lay's down'

Vaggie: "Babe? What're you doing?" 'Vaggie asks tiredly'

Charlie: "Ryker had a....pretty bad nightmare so I figured he would feel better if he slept here tonight" 'Charlie explains earning a tired but exaggerated gasp from Vaggie as she outstretch's her arms'

Vaggie: "Noooooo, c'mere sweetie mummy will make the night monsters go away" 'Vaggie says drowsily as she takes Ryker from Charlie, softly hugging him'

'Ryker let's out a soft rumble, as Charlie wipes the remaining tears from his eyes before placing a kiss on his forehead'

Charlie: "Go back to sleep buddy, you'll be okay now" 'Charlie says reassuringly as she herself begins to grow tired'
