Chapter One- Fever Pt.1

'Two days had passed since Ryker took his first steps. When Vaggie told Charlie she was of course, ecstatic. If not a little sore about missing it'

'The day after, Ryker started to walk on his feet much more, however it was clear it was much more comfortable for him to move around on his hands and feet, likley from his biology'

'However the night of the day after Ryker seemed to be moving rather sluggishly, however Charlie and Vaggie chalked it up to him just being tired'

'This leads to the current situation, Ryker was laying in his bed, having struggled to get to a sitting position'

'Charlie had gone to wake him up when she found him in his sickly state, sending her into a light panic'

'However both she and Vaggie quickly found out Ryker simply had a fever. Despite his weak state however Ryker still managed to keep his happy personality, to some extent'

Charlie: "Well what do we do! I feel so bad..." 'Charlie says holding Ryker carefully, fretting over his current state'

Vaggie: "There isnt much we can do hun, he just has to rest" 'Vaggie says placing her hand on Ryker's forehead, earning a weak but soft hum from him'

Charlie: "Well....I don't have much work to do today...I'll look after him" 'Charlie says earning a soft smile from Vaggie'

Vaggie: "Allright well, make sure you dont get sick too" 'Vaggie says before placing a kiss of Charlie's cheek. Walking out of the room'

'Charlie turns to Ryker gently picking him up, causing him to lean into her once she had him in a comfortable position'

'As Ryker struggled to keep his eyes open he lets out a quiet rumble, likley not having too much strength'

Charlie: "I know you dont feel good buddy, but I'm going to stay with you all day to make sure you get better" 'Charlie says softly, earning a soft hum from Ryker in response'

'Charlie then takes Ryker into her and Vaggie's room, placing Ryker down on the bed, causing him to almost immediately curl up while laying down'

'Charlie then leans down slightly, placing the back of her hand against Ryker's forehead, her face softening once she felt his fever'

'Charlie quickly walks into the washroom taking a spare hand towel before running it under the tap soaking it with cold water'

'After wringing the towel out slightly she folds it into a rectangle before sitting down on the bed, gently pulling Ryker towards her, leaning him against herself as he sits on her lap'

Charlie: "Here. This should cool you down a little" 'Charlie says placing the wet peice of cloth on Ryker's head'

'Upon contact with the cloth Ryker let's out a low hum as he seems to relax slightly, closing his eyes'

'Charlie then climbs under the covers of the bed, bringing Ryker with her as she sits against the head board of the bed'

'Ryker now being unable to move, pike's his head out from under the covers, resting his chin on the blanket as Charlie turns on the Tv'

'Ryker then looks up to Charlie, letting out a confused Rumble, tilting his head as he does so'

Charlie: "You're sick And you need to rest to get better. So we are going to watch some movies!" 'Charlie says turning on a movie, causing Ryker to let out a tired rumble, shaking his head for a moment'

Charlie: "If you fall asleep that's okay too. You need rest" 'Charlie says hugging Ryker closer to herself'

'After a moment Ryker snuggles upto Charlie. Closing his eyes as he tries to sleep'

'As Ryker rested,Charlie found herself deep in thought, she had mostly been thinking about how things have changed as of late. But now she had started thinking about the future'

'She was mostly trying to wrap her head around what she and Vaggie were going to do for Ryker's education. Sure they could home school him but he should have some friends around his own age'

'Then there was the whole problem of keeping him safe. When word gets out that Ryker is in fact a hellspawn, people will probably try to come after him'

'Subconsiously Charlie found herself gripping onto Ryker tighter, holding him protectively'

'It had been a rather short time since they adopted Ryker. But both Vaggie and Charlie have grown rather attached to him, they both seemed natural's when it came to parenting'

'However Charlie knows it wont be easy, so does Vaggie. Even now Ryker could tend to be a handful, even if he didnt intend to be'

'Yet Charlie was willing to push these thoughts to the side for now. Right now she need to take care of her child'
